Glasgow By-election

Post by Galbally »

Seriously, Labour are getting massacred, how long do you think Gordon Brown can hang onto power, I am sure Labour MPs would get rid of him in the morning, there is one problem however, it won't change their electoral position, though it might save a few seats. Also, if the Labour party pick a new leader, there would be a lot of pressure to hold a general election immeadiately, and that would not be good for those boys right now.

So: when do you think gordon will go.

Are the SNP in a better position to consider holding the independence referendum from the UK as a result of the by-election?

Who do you think the next PM will be?

As they deserve thanks to their record in the area.

As soon as they find a credible alternative - which will be difficult.

No they aren't. The referendum is already scheduled for 2010, so this by-election result is irrelevant in that context.

Who cares? Although competence would be a novelty.

They'll have to pry his dead hands off the door handle at #10 first. He's already trying to buy any competition off with jobs and honours.

No, they still might not win.

Cameron, if he survives as leader that long.

Not soon. realistically who do they have as an alternative?

No. They have said 2010 for a referendum and would be silly imo to have it any sooner. They need a bit longer for labour to really **** off the voters in scotland. If the tories get in at the next election the snp have a better chance of gaining support. (you still hear I hate Thatcher) At the moment SNP are a good protest vote and not really indicative of support for independence.

Who do you think the next PM will be?

Cameron probably but more because the opposition have imploded. Hopefully with a hung parliament. Biggest problem we have is when a govt gets in that the majority of the people voted against. We had it with Thatcher and now we've got it with labour. PR in scotland is making a difference.
