I was working on two films at the same time, one was in a mental intsitution that is quite haunted and the other I was building 11 corpses for a horror film. I would go to the hospital set all day then go to the studio, make dead people, sleep 2-4 hours then go to the hospital set again. After doing this for about 5 days, I was working on the corpses at about 3am and the power went out in the studio.
I was the only one with a key to lock up and there were two painters on the set next to me. It was so dark that when I lit my lighter to try and find my way over to them, all I could see was the brilliant light. The darkness sucked away any glimmer beyond the flame. I mostly felt my way over until they saw the flame and called me over. They found a flashlight and we looked for an electrical box. We found it. It was a series of three throw switches that were right out of a B movie horror flick. "I'm not touchin' it!" We decided to pack it in. I had to wait for them to put away all the paint materials and clean up. I took my little lighter and went back to the darkness of my corpses.
From the table that I had been working at, when I looked towards the front of the studio, there was light from under the large, sliding door. I waited. Suddenly a smaller door opened and shut rapidly. The light from outside flashed then disappeared. "Hello?" I questioned the room, thinking that security might be checking in on the power failure. Nothing. "The power went out." I tried, thinking they might not know we had been working late. I heard something moving but no response. Now my exhaustion kicked in.
With the body parts dangling in silhoutte from the table as I strained to see the entrance, I ducked under the table. Skeletons with half decayed flesh surrounded me as I cowered. My ears rang with the silence, straining to hear where the movements were going to or coming from. Time stood still. I was terrified.
Sure that a horror film murderer was stalking me in the dark, I was frozen with the deepest fear I have ever endured. I believed in Jason, Freddy...you name it, one of them was about to kill me. I couldn't have screamed if I thought it would save me. Suddenly light bobbed up and down. Laughter. I turned to the side. The painters with their flashlight entered from the other set.
I snapped out of it. Stood up, hands on my hips and said "What took you so long?" as if nothing had happened. We locked up and I walked home. In a daze. I believe I was still in shock from the fear. When I got home, I sat down and forced myself to remember every detail. I figured, and I hope, that I would never know that type of fear again. I know what it feels like to be stalked by a serial killer. Luckily the movie "ended" before I got killed. Also, luckily, it was the weekend so I slept....for a very long time.
As a note, the producers were confused when I told them the power failed, they said it was impossible, there was a powerful backup system. The old switches were not connected, it was a newer system and they were at a loss to explain how this could happen.

I did a Bungy Jump on my 60th birthday 165 ' from a bridge. I was secured by my ankles and managed a pretty decent swan dive which was captured on video. I watched people for two hours before getting up the nerve to do it. Frankly, I thought they were nuts, but after listeniing to some great music on a boom box I got pumped up and would have jumped off the Empire State Buillding. Adrenelin rush? You betcha, and it lasted for about a week.

whats the scariest thing that you have ever seen or done. Could be jumping out of an aeroplane or watching a horror film, could even be some spooky real life experience etc..
That's a very tough one for me to answer. Let's put it this way: I have made a pact with Stephen King (one of my favorite authors). The day he writes a book that is scarier than the crap in my head (a.k.a. memories) is the day I will stop reading him.
Maybe someday I will explain.

I've fallen twice wkile hillwalking, first time crossing a snow field without an ice axe (don't ask) fell and started sliding downhill towards a gully, managed to keep feet first and was able to aim towards some rocks to stop my fall only to hear my wife shouting abuse at me-she thought I was showing off.
Second time climbing down a slope this time with axe and crampons the snow gave way (I should explain it was a white out and I didn't realise I was above a cliff) and I fell backwards, strange sensation you fall in slow motion and there was absolutely nothing I could do to stop myself, luckily I landed on a deep snow drift. Believe me I am really careful now third time might not be lucky.
I've also cartwheeled with a mountain bike except that happened so fast i had no to time to feel fear it's only afterwards you realise what might have happened.

gonna bring the scariest thing you ever done thread forward for fun
Scariest thing for me, gawd my first time getting on an airplane drug and alcohol free.
Have flown all my life and finally at the ripe old age of 40 I decided I had to squelch this stupid dibilitating fear. I was so bad flying quite literally paralyzed me. I could not move, eat, pee, some times I was such a mess I would have violent nose bleeds.
So on my longest trip ever I just did it flew from Calgary to Toronto, to Jamaica and that was hellish but I made it and happy to say and oddly enough I do much better now. Actually now can fly alone.
To me that was a huge huge accomplishment.
