Thanksgiving is a time for families to get together and give thanks for all they have. A traditional Thanksgiving dinner is turkey, dressing, and cranberry sauce. Our family also has mashed potatoes and gravy, noodles, deviled eggs, etc. Got to have pumpkin pie too which I won't eat because it's nasty LOL.

Say it isn't so! I love Pumpkin Pie! So much so, that my mom and dad would make pumpkin pies for me for my birthdays. That's love.

True, Warsai...which is why some Native Americans have started an Unthanksgiving Day tradition.

Pumpkin Pie is awesome!! I'll post a recipe later in case anyone who's never had it wants to try one. They are best from fresh pumpkins, but canned will work as well.

I love Thanksgiving! Most of us get 2 days off from work resulting in a four-day weekend. For me, it truly begins the holiday season

Yummy food, lots of leftovers so you can laze about for a couple of days without cooking.

Lots of people start their Christmas shopping the day after Thanksgiving.

I enjoy all the colors and warmth of Thanksgiving. I decorate with lots of

different fall leaves on the table, and cornucopias full of fruits and nuts.

Orange or russet-colored candles in brass candlesticks. Indian corn and

gourds are nice, too!

Fire up the tv with the football game, pour a glass of bubbly, (the cook gets

to sip all day while she cooks, it's the law!

) and enjoy. I have been the

cook now for a little over 30 years, and while it IS a lot of work, I still do

enjoy it.

Oh and it's fun to wear a fifties apron that was my Mom's!!

I love a festive house.

Does anyone have great plans for that weekend? I'm going to sit at home, sew gifts for Christmas, and not watch the clock at all !! Hey, it's exciting for me, LOL.

I am going to be meeting my new 2 month old nephew!! So that will be really

fun for me...

I am trying to find one of those "Baby's 1st Christmas" ornaments to get him,

the only one I found was 13 bucks, a bit pricey I thought!!

It is a day off, in a warm house in new-england, visit family, and always take a traditional walk through the forest before winter sets in, if it has not already, to digest dinner. You certainly take the moment to appreciate everything and the holiday season begins, the year draws to an end, and the anticipation of another year of income tax reporting, ah, we work so hard.
