Do you Prefer Sarcasm or Satire?

Which is better, sarcasm, satire, or another form of humor?

While I enjoy humor in virtually any form (especially in virtual form) I have to say my favorite to use is sarcasm. I also like puns and mix the two quite frequently. It helps to keep my skills sharp so that I can draw analogies in more serious discussions to point out irony or inconsistency. Analogies are especially helpful in putting a point across in a heated argument, and I find I can be quite analgesic.

I hate the form of humor using sarcasm. I married a man that thinks humor is suppose to be sarcastic. Sometimes the things he says to me are very hurtful, he thinks they are hilaious and says I have no sense of humor. Bull , I have a sense

of humor I just don't cut some one down with my humor. Guess who his favorite comedian is -Dave Leno. I like jokes, puns, maybe George Carlin.Loved his story about a place for my stuff. Really old but still very funny.

i admit to using a razor sarcasm on criminals, they usually ask for it and i dish it out! :D ...but i personally like satire, for example south park, reno 911 and any book by Carl Hiaasen. also especially enjoy dry british humor found in Britcoms.

Flopstock-Boy can you ever read thru the lines. Sorry, I hate Jay Leno so much I actually forgot his real name. My husband wakes me up from sleep to tell me his jokes. That starts WWIII.

I have to confess I do similar things sometimes. My wife's sitting right there not paying attention to the TV when something funny happens. I can't seem to resist telling her what just happened. She never says "I'm sitting right here. Do you think I'm an idiot?" but the message is there. :o

QUOTE]

To give you a straight answer, I would say that, as far as I can see, looking at it by and large, taking one thing with another, in general terms, at the end of the day, it’s probably true to say, as far as I can see, at this stage, in the final analysis, there probably isn’t much in it either way.

i like "slapstick"

no Floppy, not like that:-2

Seeing somebody get tossed down a flight of stairs, hit in the face with a pie, or two guys riding a scooter thru the mountains and one has to pee, so when they get off (the scooter) they are frozen together.

yeah, and the "Doggie Eclaire" scene in VanWilder. cracks me up every time.

personally, sarcasm is completely lost on me.

Isn't it Turbo?

To paraphrase a wise Gardener, I love using slapstic but you have to be careful that the receiver of your cream pie enjoys it as well or is willing to give it right back. FOOD FIGHT! :wah:
