To My Daddy for Fathers Day

Post by Hope6 »

It's been over 20 years since you were taken from us, yet i still think of you quite often. Something will remind me of you and i'll have to smile.

I remember your laugh and how you always had a funny joke or story to tell.

and i remember your smile, you always had one ready for everybody, even a total stranger, because with you no one was a stranger.

and i remember you were a gentle loving man with absolutely no temper, i can't remember ever seeing you angry! and i was Daddy's little girl who had you wrapped aroung her little finger.

and then when you became sick i remember thinking, that can't be my daddy, the strong active man i had known was replaced by a frail and fragile man who couldn't get out of bed, sometime

and then that day i was leaving for school and i went in to say good bye!

oh if i had only known, then that would be the last time i'd ever see you alive,

all the things i would have said.! i know i would have told you that i love you!

but i didn't know, so a lot went unsaid!

And when i had a baby of my own, my thoughts again turned to you!

oh how i wish, i you could have seen your grandson you would love him so much!

you missed so many things in my life: graduation, proms, walking me down the aisle at my wedding and holding your grandson!

so on this Fathers Day, i want to remember you once again and say i love you and i miss you!!

I am sure he has been with you every step of the way.

I am sure you can find him somewhere in your son’s smile.

I am sure that you did not have to say the things you wanted to, he already knew.

When he laughed, I am sure it was because you made him happy.

He had no temper and did not got angry because his daughter was an angel.

He always smiled, because he had great happiness in his life.

I am sorry that you lost your father.

yeah me too!

any plans for college went out the window since i had to stay at home and help my mom with the family farm.

and i got married pretty quickly afterwards too, something i probably wouldn't have done if i had gone off to college like a regular teenager, i was actually 25 years old and a married woman before i finally started college!:wah:

DAD

We'll always remember

that special smile,

that caring heart,

that warm embrace,

you always gave us.

You being there

for Mom and us

through good and bad times,

no matter what.

We'll always remember

you Dad because

they'll never be another one

to replace you in our hearts,

and the love we will always

have for you.
