The U.S. Open started today. That is a golf tournament for those not into sports.
The course is city owned and has banned smoking from the gallery, over 42,000 tickets were sold. The kicker is that they are allowing the golfers and caddies competing in the event to smoke.
I think it should be either smoking or non smoking for all, why are the rich pro golfers and their caddies allowed to smoke but no spectators? It doesn't mater to me whether it is smoking or non but it should be for everyone not just the paying customer.

YZGI I agree 100% with you. Why would anyone want to be seen smoking period. This is being play in my home town about 10 minute from my home. This is fire season in San Diego and smoking is frowned upon in this city especially during "Fire Season". This course is so beautiful I can't imagine anyone wanting to smoke, or better yet be seen smoking in such a beautiful place.
Hope you enjoy watching my home town and the "US OPEN" from Torrey Pines Golf Course. Doesn't get any better than this. :-6:-6

WOO HOO!!, what a ride!!!"

I am and guess which day that is, Yep Sunday Whoo Woo!!. A ton of tickets were donated to my chapter of the Alzheimer's Association. There were put into a hat and we picked, it was my lucky day I pulled Sunday and I got the matching ticket to go with it. Mind you it will be a mad house and I probably won't see much but who cares. :-6:-6 At least the buses and trolley's that are running there are very close to my home at Qualcomm Stadium so it will be easy getting there and back.

I agree totally with you. Its almost as if they are discriminating against the spectaors and not the competitors.

Oh, but the weather is nice there today, Carla. I was watching it on the TV at the gym, and you know the news channels carried this story......
