in the meantime - glad you got the picnic in. I managed a fish and chips on the beach and a walk, in between showers. Gotta head back to Canberra for a few days tomorrow. I think it's fine there, but probably below zero.

Hi Kathy ! Yes it is bad where I am, with bloody fireworks - when are they going to make them illegal to buy over the counter, just be available under licence at organised displays ffs. Every weekend and even some weekday eveings we get huge fireworks going off near us. People seem to have money literally to burn ! It amazes me why it has become a sort of 'in thing' to have expensive fireworks to celebrate somebody's blinkin birthday !!! It terrifies peoples' pets, and gawd knows how the 'wild' animals cope ! It is sooooooo bloody selfish. I also wonder how the WW veterans cope with these explosions every weekend - after all it must be like being back on the frontline sometimes - we are talking explosives here when all is said and done ! I'm afraid you just cannot depend on the general public's co-operation so BAN THE BLOODY LOT OF FIREWORKS except, as I say, under licence for an official organised display, for 5 November or possibly New Year, or maybe a special festival. :-5:-5:mad::mad:

Some of our State, like the Carolinas, do sell fireworks. People buy them as they're passing through and bring them north. But, if you're caught by the police you'll be fined and the fireworks are taken away from you.

Hello Gill,

This mountain is almost 2500 feet. It was the scariest thing that I've ever done in my life, but I had to prove myself to some a**hole.....that I was brave for a Yank. I was dared to climb it....said a Yank could never do it.

I didn't know that this was a mountain range. When we reached the top I cried and was overwhelmed with the beauty of the range. It was breathtaking:-4

It was worth it:-4

Lunch time was about 1 1/2 hours ago Ducky. It is sooooo warm today, so we had a couple of filled buns each and a cup of tea. The dog Rex, our German Shepherd had his chicken mixed with 'human soup', as per usual - he has this twice a day, plus 'mixer biscuits' in a separate bowl, to make sure he has his fair share of minerals and vitamins. Rex just won't eat biscuits mixed in with his meat. They have to be in separate dishes ! He also loves tuna, so we give him that about every fifth meal. When we first had him, we gave him tinned dog food. He ate it, but wasn't very struck on it, even the better brands. I sat down and did my sums, and I realised that to give him cooked turkey or chicken, mixed with different soups, plus separate 'complete' biscuits, came to not a lot more than the cost of the dog tins ! At least I know what is in the food I'm giving him, and he absolutely loves his food. I believe that white meat is healthier for a dog than the red meat anyway. He is a very fit 11 1/2 year old GS, and he is the correct weight for his size, so I suppose we're doing things right - well the vet is always in full agreement with us when he goes for his regular M.O.T.s !! :-6:D

Hi there Gill Kay,Kathy and Ducky....Ive just got in from the booty, it was bloody cold here this morning but now is warm......bleedin typical ain't it:-5Well its been a crap day....and guess what.....somebody nicked somefing.....it was a bundle of canes for plants.....I was serving somebody and this woman came over and put some money in my hand all in change and walked off towards the car park...I thought ......ang on this dont feel right...and the old vibes started soooooo I went after her and sure enough I clocked that she in actual fact had 2 bundles.She had a right flash car the cow and as she reached it I bellowed in my sweet voice..........OI YOU GONNA PAY FOR THAT OTHER PACK OR WHAT!!:wah::wah:She didnt know what way to look and said.....oh sorry I never realised.......well I gave her a special Carol look and said.....YE RIGHT!!!!ffs how can anybody pick up 2 bleedin bundles of canes and not know!!!!!!!!!!!!:-5:sneaky:

Awww thanks Kathy, Poor thing still isnt right today, we called the police but by the time they arrived it was all over..grrrrrrrr:-5:-5:-5 Just made us all very upset last night cos the kids were crying too.
