okay guys i'm gonna need lots of hugs and support in the near future.

my Lucky is getting worse, i know many of you don't know who Lucky is, he's my dog. he's been my baby for 10 years and was recently diagnosed with cancer. i've known for a while that it was just a matter of time but now i can see the change in him, he's beginning to look uncomfortable and not wanting to eat as much too.

i know many people will say it's just a dog, but believe me, he's a part of the family. he's a house dog so he's been right here with me all these years, and before Jacob was born, Lucky was my only companion a lot of the time!

i had a beautiful German Shepard named Katie, (from one of my favorite movies Gone with the Wind):wah: but it may take a real GWTW fan to know where the Katie comes from!:wah:

anyway she was hit by a truck when she was just a little over a year old and was killed. So my husband finds Lucky and brings him home for me on my birthday. and he's been my constant companion ever since.

I've made the decision that i'm not going to let him suffer, i don't want that even if it means he can be with me longer. when it looks like he's in very much discomfort i'm gonna take him to be put to sleep. OMG! i'm dreading that day, i know i'll be bawling like a baby, but i'm gonna go in with him and hold him while he goes to sleep for the last time, because i want the last thing he sees to be his momma so maybe he will know he was loved!

oh now i'm crying!

alright, any spare hugs you've got around i could really use them!

i had a doberman named zee-zee whom i really realy loved ... she was later diagnosed with diabetes and i spent over six months giving her a daily injection of insulin to keep her alive ...

one day she looked up at me while i was injecting her and the look she gave me just somehow told me that she didn't want to live anymore and that i was keeping her alive for Jj's and not for zee-zee's sake ...

the next day i took her to the vet and ended her suffering ...

Sis I had a dog called lucky too and he was my baby...had the most beautiful eyes...anyhow he got a brain tumor and he slowly lost his balance then went blind but still i couldnt bring myself to put him down then he wouldnt eat or drink so I use to get syringe and feed him that way. Well the day came when I knew I had to do the right thing for him. I think I could of filled a pool I cried so much but now he is in doggy heaven I hope having a wonderful time. i hope it's not for a while yet either, but i have to keep in mind what's best for him and not what i want and then i'm sure i can do what i need to do when the time comes.

We faced the same thing several months ago. Our dog got so weak from his health problems that I made the decision it was time to stop his suffering. A very hard decision to make, but in my heart, I knew it was the right one.

We took him to the vet and had the vet come out to our vehicle to euthanize him because he was a large dog. My husband craddled his head and we talked to him as we petted him. I told him that he soon would be pain free and would be joining his mates in heaven. His tail started wagging, as though he was telling us that he was ready, and as they hooked the IV up and put him to sleep, he calmly drifted away in my husbands arms and we both cried like babies. He was part of our family for 12 years. We brought him home and buried him on our property, under a tree where he so liked to lay, with his favorite blanket and toys. We miss him dearly but we know in our hearts, it was the right thing to do.

they so become like part of the family don't they? in particular if you have them for very many years. Lucky will be 10 years old in August so he has been with me quite a while. This place sure will feel empty without him in it.

yesterday the painters smashed my internet telephone connection ... then my shower door fell off ... this morning my monitor packed up ... 850 bucks later do i need hugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yeah but to me .. theres more to a hug than just squeezing somebody ... its the warm feeling you get inside when someone puts their arms around you and hugs you ... no inflatable vest is gonna give you that ...
