Hi Kaylene! Can I interest you in a cold tinnie, or would you prefer a glass of vino? All that talk of mowing will have made you quite exhausted, by implication, not to mention the babysitting. (Grass in Canberra has now stopped growing - for the winter, or the grass we would have had if there had been any water to make it grow in the first place).

It has been such a beautiful day here that I ditched work, grabbed a sandwich and a friend and went for a walk by the lake.

It's a bit after 4pm now here (probably where you are too) and the sun is low in the sky and it's starting already to chill down. I love this time of the year. Heading for Sydney tomorrow where it will be a lot warmer.

Have a great Friday evening. I'm having dinner with friends at the local Vietnamese restaurant. Looking forward to that.

Hope the other FOCers are happily dreaming very fine dreams..

Thanks for the good wishes ,you are a really lovely lot of people:-4

I know you have all heard the saying "Like getting blood out of a stone"

Well that was me this morning:wah:I was the stone & not much blood happened, gave the new nurse something to do for 3/4 of an hour.

Good to see you back here mrsK2:-4

Been doing some thinking as I get close to being another year older.

I think I am just goping to be me from now on,no trying to please everyone & failing.Just be me say what I feel, how I feel etc.

I have spent a lot of my life trying to make sure everyone is happy & that things are good for them.

Now it is my turn,if people don't like it they can lump it.I want to live my life my way from here on in.

Thanks for listening not that you had a choice .:-4:-6

Gosh we've got a whole bunch of aussies in here. Can the thread stand it? Three of us!!!

We have had a bit of rain, Kaylene. But we do tend to count it in drops. And give each drop a name, even. Welcome Frad. Hi Donner and Blitzen.. sort of thing.

MrsK - so nice to see you, too. And more power to your arm. Go, kick up your heels, take a book and doze in the sunshine, do what you want, have fun...

hi mrsk,

my birthday was in march and i always get like that before hand !!

i have got to learn to say NO :-5 but its not easy to do.

my boss took me in nearly three years ago when my partner died suddenly and i have spent that time prooving how grateful i am for it but now they take it for granted that i'll drop what ever im doing for them, last night was a prime example !! its got to the point where my family and very limited social life is suffering for it,

its affecting my health too cos if you've read back you can see i've turned into a walking disaster area :D

perhaps we ought to compare notes and see how we get on ;):wah:

Thanks for listening not that you had a choice .:-4:-6H WELL SAID BABE!!!!!I was only saying the other day to Chris the same fing.I would always do what other people wanted believe it or not........no more.....a fine example was the other day when a cousin was saying about meeting up for a meal ....problem is her old man dont eat this and dont eat that and quite honestly his a bleedin nightmare with his food and I couldnt handle it I tell yer....anyway I know she likes Indian food like me and Chris do and didnt know if he did so I suggested one where I am off to tonight....the choice of about 60 dishes...superb food and eat as much as you like for one price...she said he wont eat it and likes chinese so I told her well he can go opposite then in the Chinese:wah::wah:but she said no lol and then she said another place that I think is total crap....so its on hold at the moment.the point is at one time I would have gone for a chinese but why should I.....3-1 tells me he is being a bloody pain also he must know that you get other food there also.Chris finks I was out of order but I feel Im at an age where I do what I WANT as long of course Chris is ok with whatever it is as thats different.I was brought up to eat most stuff and I know that some people dont like certain foods and that is quite normal...but the person Im talking about is fussy to the point of pulling me hair out as is one of the children. To be blunt......at my age if people dont want go along with the majority.....forget it as this woman aint giving a bloody inch as those days are gone and ive served my apprenticeship and pleased to many people for to many years and now its MY time;)Gawd aint I gone on lol....good to see a new MrsK!!!!XX

Helen, it sounds like you are getting stronger (in mind if not in body:wah:), but i am happy to think you are gaining confidence,, and yes you can always be grateful for a kind act towards you but that dont mean you should be beholden to them forever,,, and they shouldnt expect it.... keep thinking strong positive thoughts and do what you want with your own life:-4

Hey up all you lot !! Good to see everybody here, and hope you have a good day, whatever you are doing XXX

It's good to see some of you flexing your muscles and getting on with looking after No.1 for a change !! It's quite true, you spend most of your life trying to help and please everybody else, then you suddenly realise that life is passing you by and you haven't really thought about doing things to please YOU !! All power to you all !!!

Well I shall be flitting in and out, doing all sorts of different things today, not least stuff for others on the internet, but I shall be popping in from time to time to keep an eye on you and make sure you are behaving !

Hi pillbilly XXX Good to see you here chuck !!

I'm a Saga-lout, growing old disgracefully
