my dog was castrated, had a prostate scan and had liver and kidney blood tests plus an over night stay and it cost me £158.

Thanks carol:-4 we have already paid the bill, but i still havent looked at it. Gordon has it and probably put it away, with all the upset last night i never looked and i have been at work all day today(my last day yayyyy). Anyway what they did was give her some antibiotic, took a little flessh from the pad on her paw as she had almost sliced it off, so they could try to bring it together a bit and put some staples in, then bandaged it up. By the time she got home the bandage was off, so we had to take her back for them to do it again:-5 they insisted on putting one of those plastic collar things on so she couldnt bite at it, but she hadnt took it off you could see it had just came off whole. Anyway she was in a right state last night with the colar, her little heart was beting ninety to the dozen, she was panting like mad and shaking. Shes a little better with it today, but im gonna see if i can get it off and on so i can at least take it off when i am watching her or taking her outside. I dont mind paying for the treatment really, but to charge £99.00 just for a consultation before they even add the treatment charges is in my opinion a disgrace!

Anyay Carol sorry i didnt get back online to say goodbye and enjoy yer hols, but i bet you are having a blast already:-4

Yes Gill i have pet insurance, and thats another story:wah: because we just set up the policy literally last week, they couldnt find us on the system, but after just a few hours on the phone:rolleyes:I eventually got through to the woman who could actually remember setting up our policy for us, she was a great help and we just have to wait for claim forms now, there is an excess of £75.00 but she will need another 2 or 3 visits to the vets for aftercare and to have the staples removed, so at least we will be able to claim everything over and above £75.00.

It cost us about £145.00 for her to be spayed and microchipped Helen, but the charge here was mainly because it was out of hours:rolleyes: we couldnt wait till the morning though as the bleeding just wouldnt stop and i was worried somthin was still stuck in her paw

Argghh, having been doing laundry marathon all weekend and putting all the winter clothes away, etc. and now I'm doing the sock inventory. Ya know, 6 people and all their socks:-5 and naturally half them don't match.:wah:

:wah:I do the same thing, even with those little ankle socks that nobody can see anyway. The girls have to wear stockings with their uniforms and Quin's socks have to match cuz he wears shorts to schoo.:p

About 2 years ago, our washer died and I decided to clean it out, so I took off the back of it and found, umm about 30 socks and $75.00 bucks.:-4

Hi Guys!!!!!Well Im here:D

The hotel is great and so posh and also I am looking out of the huge windows now and can see the sea.......its dearer than staying in a chalet but goodness worth every penny.King Size bed.....fridge big tele and dvd, fick towels.....oh its great.Went and had a nice meal and loads of Mr.Whippy IceCream;)Booked up about doing my CD and its taking place on Wednesday..........ere Chris is gonna do one also!!!His gonna sing Thats Life.......he aint bad......watch this space;)

I drove here for a change.I can see my car by looking out the window also....ere I paid £20 for 3 days broadband here.Well it was a fiver for just an hour fgs or a tenner a day, so it seemed a better deal.

Hi Kaz, what a hassle and worry for you mate. I would still query that out-of-hours charge. As Helen says, it seems you are in the wrong area, unless you can find another vet who doesn't rip you off. Thank goodness you have insurance, although it is possible the vet knows this and charges accordingly, assuming you will claim back. If this is the case, the vet is a money grabbing con man, possibly bordering on fraud! Did he ask you before treatment if you had pet insurance ? Bit suspect if he did. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Aw glad your having a good time and i cant wait to hear your new CD and Chris's:D Sheila is a lot better now and at the moment is in the garden with my hubs, my son and his friend:D

Nope they tell you on the phone that they have to advise you of the cost before you go through. Itsan emergency practice that a lot of the vets here refer you to in out of hours... its about a 20 minute drive but the only other one i have found is also that far as well.... still i will definately phone the other one if we ever need it again(hopefully not) and ask what their charges are.

Carol I only said 'like' Mrs, it don't have to be that song ! What other songs does Chris know, cos you could always adapt it so he sings a bit then you do etc. then you can harmonise a bit ----- gawd, this is hard work :rolleyes:
