Morning Kay, glad to see you this am. I would have to get up at like 4am to chat with you:p

Hi Gill, I'm here today for a bit. Have to run out on some errands in awhile.

And hi Chez, yes the soup will make the numbness go down. IDK, it always works for me.:p

Not a chance! There is more luck in snow hitting us in the next hour, then there is of getting a prezzie. Still being relieved of parenting duty is a present in itself so I can't complain hehehe. :wah:

I'm sure they had a great time though, but they rang an hour ago to say their flight had been delayed, so they stil haven't left the airport yet, here's hoping things don't get any worse, because those delays can be a real nightmare!

Yeah let's hope so, because my mum HATES (and I can't emphasise that enough,) airports, so to spend more time in there than she has too, won't go down to well! Boy I'm so glad I'm not my dad having to go through that!! :p

Thank you, I'll probably be chopping and changing over the next few weeks, so we'll see what wonders (or horrors,) will appear! :D

And yep I'm not the greatest fan of airports either, especially with all the added security measures now in place, not too mention all the usual hassles of arriving on time, and checking in bags, and so on. Sure is a pain, no wonder a lot of people try not to travel these days abroad!

Hiya Chris and thanks Matey....She got one wrong and so she didnt to well lol...joking but it does annoy me that at home she knows these words and once she gets in the classroom she forgets how to spell them, gawd help us when its exam time lol....Its like her reading stage at school, she was on 14, 15 being the last stage then its free read. At home she reads everything, Dahl, astrosaurs, jackie wilson, lewis carroll, all with ease so I got her to take those books into school and show her teacher she is already at free read level, She read to him and now shes on free read. Why couldnt he work that out lol....We keep a reading diary of all she reads at home too. School I feel at times is an unwelcome pressure. Sowwy I went off on one.....tempted to delete everything after matey but its took me ages to type so bugga it, im submitting lol

Oh I fully understand where you are coming from, I'm just like that even today. It's just the added pressure of school or college that makes things that you could normally do with such ease a lot harder. Heck I would of been lucky to have got 50% right in exams! :wah:

I think it's great though that she has such a keen interest in reading and so many different kinds of authors, and at such an early age!! :-6

I do that too:wah: read your rant about your daughters reading too, I remember my daughter coming home distraught because they said she would have to attend the special reading class for her reading, she was an excellent reader, so i couldnt understand and went to the school. I had to persuade them i wasnt a snobby mam who didnt want to admit her child couldnt read well, but i reminded them that my son had to have extra reading lessons as he wasnt so good and i was pleased they were helping him. Anyway it came down to a silly test they did, asking questions, she had to read the questions and by her answers they could assess how well she could read:confused: Only thing was,, she could read the questions but just didnt knoqw what some of the words meant:wah: she knew a question had said name something that is thatched, she didnt know what thatched meant and guessed it meant latched or like a hinge, so she put a gate:wah: what a silly way to assess reading skills:rolleyes: anyway once they actually heard her read it was all sorted:D

Oh too right hahaha, they are really, really fussy. I mean before the even more extreme measures today were in place, we once spent about half an hour so the guards could go through all our things to make sure we weren't hiding anything. I mean granted the security is for a vital reason, but in some cases I do think they go a tad too far, I mean bomb flip flops!!! :wah:

Well, they pulled her over to a "secure area" to check her bag, etc. Yeah, she was laughing. No really, you're better off wearing the flip flops than shoes which they do check.

Well I remember that on the trip back from the US we had bought a present (can't remember exactly what it was, but something small,) and they were determined to open it up (as it was wrapped,) and check to make sure what was inside just in case. Oh and of course you can't take over a lot of toiletries, you have to buy them over there, which is really frustrating, especially as you are supposed to be relaxing and enjoying your time, not trying to buy things that you could just pack in the first place.

Still I suppose it's better to be safe than sorry!
