So i finished mopping the kitchen and thought i'd pop on and see if anyone else was bored this sunday afternoon.

And stumble across this. And am once again amazed at what gifts are given to me from the minds of my fellow gardeners..

Thanks FR. You've made my Sunday. Not because of your religion so much as simply your feelings.

I'm with Flops, too. That you would think to share that with us is

just phenomenal.

Thank you, FR!

Thanks for sharing this with us it.

It must be a wonderful thing to feel so proud and have so much love for your parents and to feel able to tell others how you feel...there are so many that either don't or will not admit in public let alone in private how they feel.....I love my mom to bits but she is one of those people who doesn't show her feelings and hates what she calls anything sloppy......I have her staying with me for a few weeks so I will spoil her a bit.

I have often heard my two girls talking and saying how much they love me and miss me and it makes me feel so tingly inside and just want to hug and kiss them,......even though they are in their 20's......

Thank you for telling this story. The respect you have for your father shines through in almost every word. You are blessed and your father is blessed to look out over the congregation and see his son sitting there…interested in what he has to say.

I am encouraged…thank you. :-6

Congrats FR, for having such a father (which many do), for appreciating him (which few do), and for following his example (which almost none do).

It is clear that your father made a leader of at least one who followed him.

If you wouldn't mind - Give your dad a hug from the mominiowa.....I read your story, just tonight - and felt a pain of guilt go through me..there was a mass for my father on Sunday morning at 7:30- I had to work the night before, not a good enough excuse..but I was tired...I didn't attend the mass so after reading your post - I went to the cemetery and "talked" to my dad - I hope he forgives me - and I hope your wisdom never leaves the garden..Far...Give him a hug for me---

Hey, he’s not the only one you caused to tear up. That was very touching. My father died in April of this year.

Thank you and I'm sorry for your loss as well. Thank you for not trying to make us cry again. I've done enough already as I'm sure you know.

I'm a whistler, and I find myself whistlin to her imaginary hummin.... huh?

God has given that extra measure of grace to over come the sadness, may God grant you that extra measure as well.

MOMINIOWA... please make me cry! it feels good to be human.
You are right. Crying is really a good thing.

I'm sorry to hear you have lost your mother. You remember her comforting presence well. It sounds like God has given you that extra measure of grace.

God’s grace has certainly been sufficient for me. I was able to officiate for my father’s memorial service. It was what my family wanted so I said I would try. I didn’t think I would even make it up front. My brother-in-law saw the condition I was in, comforted me and offered a prayer for my strength. I got through the whole service with my mother sitting in the front row and didn’t completely lose it once.
