Rogues
A motley crew of voyagers
In a brave new future
Linked only by our curiosity
It pleased Fate for a moment to cast us all together.
We were surprised by friendship
Our spirits danced and flamed
And the light of us together
Greatly surpassed each solitary spark
Together we - the Rogues - brought forth a world of wonder
Bathing our faces in the newborn sun
Vibrantly alive and briefly still
Okay, Sister Mary made me do it.

Journey of Life
Author Unknown
Do not undermine your worth by comparing yourself with others,
It is because we are different that each of us is special.
Do not set your goals by what other people deem important.
Only you know what is best for you.
Do not take for granted the things closest to your heart.
Cling to them as you would your life,
for without them, life is meaningless
Do not let your life slip through your fingers
By living in the past nor for the future.
By living your life one day at a time,
You live all the days of your life.
Do not give up when you still have something to give.
Nothing is really over until the moment you stop trying.
It is a fragile thread that binds is to each other.
Do not be afraid to encounter risks.
It is by taking chances that we learn how to be brave.
Do not shut out of your life by saying it is impossible to find.
The quickest way to receive love is to give love;
The fastest way to lose love is to hold it too tightly.
In addition, the best way to keep love is to give it wings.
Do not dismiss your dreams.
To be without dreams is to be without hope;
To be without hope is to be without purpose.
Do not run through life so fast that you forget
not only where you have been, but also where you are going.
Life is not a race, but a journey to be savored each step of the way.
A friendship ring for you....

Very nice Kathy!!! And welcome AlongForTheRide. The Rogues are very fine internet roadies.
The first time Kathy and I actually met she told me - and it's stuck with me always - that I "collect people and take them on journeys". :sneaky: I think I'd settle very happily for that on me tombstone - in about a hundred years.
Last heard, Doc Eric was merrily flinging himself down the slopes of Sun Valley, Idaho
and Frannie is still saving feral cats. I ran into a bloke from Poughkeepsie in Steamboat Springs - almost literally, and they actually knew each other. Small world. I didn't think they did this in America - but he actually went fox hunting on horseback, like the Brit Royals do. Don't think F would approve of that somehow. But very colourful. Apparently one does that kinda thing in Upstate NY.

It's good to have friends
Friends who care,
Friends who you know
Will always be there
When you need them,
And never complain,
When you tell the same story
Again and again.
I've said it before
And I'll say it again:-6

G'day FuzzyButt and MrsK!! It's great to see your smiling Aussie faces!!
In the old Rogue websites, a trillion years ago, we had two stock characters. Sr Mary HTML - who helped us all code our posts, roused on everyone, chased the animals out of the website with a broom, and took a small port on occasions - on every occasion!!! - just for medicinal purposes. .... I think we should raise a glass to Sister Mary. One can only have one persona in this website, so sadly, Sr Mary, will just hafta remain a fiction.
My alter ego was Bard - a kind of Greek chorus, who stood outside the action, and there was plenty of action.. grin.. and commented in his sour but of course stylish way.
(In the first days of the internet, the Rogues lived in the first Virtual Irish Pub. We were all learning, many of us teckies, how to work in this fabulous new medium, everyone now takes for granted. Heady days! We also regularly went totally crazy and off the planet. Okie got abducted by aliens. Kathy swam out to a pirate ship or something and we sailed off to the jungles of Jamaica, we went to the Klondike where men are men (and the rich ones up for grabs) and the women fight tooth and claw ... er... etc... )

AlongFortheRide - love the claddagh ring, entirely to be sure. And I love the Emerald Isle too. I was lucky enough to do some hiking in the Dingle area last year - I fell into every bog possible, met up with the wee folk, got led ashtray.. gee that didn't come out right.. er astray.. and had a ball.
That's twenty hail mary's for you, FuzzyButt and stand on yer head while saying them.. then join the Good Sister for a small -not that small - port, strictly for medicinal poiposes.
Ah the Klondike Caper!! That went down in history. I seem to recall Okie was running the poker, and a guy from Kansas, called Billy Bullion Banker was looking so drop dead gorgeous in his moneybags, that the girls of the mining town - we were no better than we ought to be tra la - were fighting over him. I think I recall shooting someone with the tiny, stylish pearl handled pistol stuffed down me goddess-type cleavage.. then the Iditerod dogsled race got into the picture. I think Kathy was in charge of that......

I really think that we should plan a trip to Bikini Bottom to visit SpongBob. For some reason Plankton is giving him a hard time, and we need to help SpongeBob.
I don't know how to solve the problem as it is too deep, but we really need to work on how to make a better crabbie pattie, or I don't know.....I'm so confused....

Grin. Hi Kathy and Fuzzy!! Dieter introduced me to SpongeBob SquarePants. I'm very happy to head to Bikini Bottom* with you all, this weekend - and we can wash Bobby, sponge him down, soap him... whatever feels like fun at the time.
There is apparently some discussion as to where Bikini Bottom is actually located. Dieter assures me it's in the Indian Ocean. I place it closer to Hawaii. All good anyway. I've commandeered a luxury yacht, with a crew of Johnny Depp lookalikes to ensure we don't go short of entertainment / cosmos..
All we need to pack is our mermaid tails, some sunnies, and our big cheesy smiles...
:D
*Ed. FB - no, AussiePam keeps her pearl handled pistol in her um Bikini Top....
** re Our Lady of the Damned.. :sneaky: Sr Mary used to try and drag naughty bad people out to the woodshed for special attention, but then one day she tried it on Okie. I don't know what happened out there. It was after his abduction by aliens when he got really wild .. that's another story.. but anyway, Sr Mary mostly just tut tutts sadly now and sups her port, for medicinal purposes only, of course.
A little nostalgia trip... Okie is Arn

HI Pam and Ellen and hi to you too Chezzie. Nice to meet you. Pam, I have seen foxes here in Oklahoma. A red one around the creek and spots in the park I go to walk in. I have seen them on the railroad too and in the country near Noble. I dont think I would want to kill one.
Ellen, I got a few lines penned on the railroad poem.
I watch Spongebob a lot. My grandkids watch it and so I do too. I know most of them by heart.

Thankyou for posting that. I think it's those small gems that one squirrels away in hard times that make all the difference. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For myself, I will never forget in all the difficulties here, one of my son's friends aged about nine told me once, that he wished I was his mum, I was so cool. Grin. Silly, but hey, it meant a lot at the time. My younger daughter had some similar reported conversations - so maybe I did at least a few things right.
Okie - awesome to see you here. I hope you don't mind me posting the poem Bard wrote for you - a trillion years ago.
You were the first person who mentioned SpongeBob to me, and at the time, I had no idea what you meant. I've since found the program on Aussie television. Grin.
Okie - we have foxes here too. Introduced by Brits maybe with hunting in mind a long time ago. They've gone wild, and nobody hunts them. They look great, but mostly carrry a load of diseases.
I'm glad we have this thread.
