Lord help me live from day to day,

In such a humble sort of way,

To give a smile, help lift a load,

For those I meet along life's road,

And when I come to my journey's end,

My life I have not lived in vain,

If one dear friend can smile and say,

"I'm glad I met him on life's way.

Letting Go

To let go doesn't mean to stop caring;

It means I can't do it for someone else.

To let go is not to cut myself off...

It's the realization that I can't control another...

To let go is not to enable,

but to allow learning from natural consequences.

To let go is to admit powerlessness,

which means the outcome is not in my hands.

To let go is not to try and change or blame another,

I can only change myself.

To let go is not to care for, but to care about.

To let go is not to fix, but to be supportive.

To let go is not to judge,

but to allow another to be a human being.

To let go is not to be in the middle arranging all the outcomes,

but to allow others to affect their own outcomes.

To let go is not to be protective,

It is to permit another to face reality.

To let go is not to deny, but to accept.

To let go is not to nag, scold, or argue,

but to search out my own shortcomings and correct them.

To let go is not to adjust everything to my desires,

but to take each day as it comes and cherish the moment.

To let go is not to criticize and regulate anyone,

but to try to become what I dream I can be.

To let go is not to regret the past,

but to grow and live for the future.

To let go is to fear less and love more.

This is my favourite one:D

When I am Old

When I am an old woman I shall wear purple

With a red hat that doesn't go, and doesn't suit me,

And I shall spend my pension

on brandy and summer gloves

And satin sandals,

and say we've no money for butter.

I shall sit down on the pavement when I am tired,

And gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells,

And run my stick along the public railings,

And make up for the sobriety of my youth.

I shall go out in my slippers in the rain

And pick the flowers in other people's gardens,

And learn to spit.

You can wear terrible shirts and grow more fat,

And eat three pounds of sausages at a go,

Or only bread and pickle for a week,

And hoard pens and pencils and beer mats

and things in boxes.

But now we must have clothes that keep us dry,

And pay our rent and not swear in the street,

And set a good example for the children.

We will have friends to dinner and read the papers.

But maybe I ought to practice a little now?

So people who know me

are not too shocked and surprised,

When suddenly I am old

and start to wear purple!

Wellllll what a change in the weather.......its so hot now!!!!We went to a Indian Buffet for lunch and then onto Heybridge.....Gill you would love it there......the boats....its just by Maldon......took some pictures so may put em on later......but gotta say it was just so nice there......pubs by the harbour.People come from all round to go there and gotta say I dont blaime them.

By the way Helen, I saw on the news that somebody has died of carbon monoxide poisoning at a hotel in Newquay, (Great Western or some such name) and several others have been taken to hospital !!

yes i've just seen that, its down in the main part of town, they thought he'd had a heart attack then the paramedics became ill after attending him. the place has only been open 6wks after a magor re vamp !!

helen just go to www.youtube.com, or when you click on a song that is on the thread already it takes you there, then just type in the box at the top what song or singer you are looking for and hit search:Dits just as easy as photobucket:guitarist

i went through some boxes earlier and came across some cassette tapes by a band called white lion, i loved these tapes, they're a bit like bon jovi or deff leppard, the first one played ok then the player ate the the second one and im gutted
