Elephant paints a self-portrait

I received this in an email today and watched it on you-tube....I thought it was amazing! But, then I read how people commented how the animal was probably abused in order for him/her to do this....what do you think?

God, I hope not! What an amazing creature. I've seen elephants painting before, but nothing like that. Wow.

I found that stunning. Some elephants have been abused to make them do that but I don't think all of them are. I don't know how you would go about training one to make an actual picture like that. That is really something. Elephants are very brilliant animals and very human like in a lot of their behaviors.
