I would imagine homosexuals want to be married for the same reasons that heterosexuals want to be married. Commitment, legal status, specific rights, financial reasons, security, etc.

well there you are, I Like Men With Socks & Sandals, but i would like to see traditional VALUES REMAIN. It is my freedom of speech, to say what i believe, i know this is a HOT TOPIC, but i am for retaining traditional morales, we want everything, but this has gone too far, yes to be popular and support it, to have me as a sweet caring, understand, whatever, i just don't believe it is correct? SORRY. I have a gran-dog, but i have not pressed baptismal. I cannot help the way i feel, just like people who cannot help they are gay, OKAY, but marriage? I can't understand...... :-5 as I age i stick to the values i grew with.

Homaphobia lives.. the way I see it you want to enjoy the financial, social, and legal protections afforded to quote traditionally married couples unquote, while denying them to a growing segment of the population. And please don't hide behind the religious moral and traditional values argument. That has been aired soooo often it smells like the manure lagoon at a hog farm. If these arguments were valid then the divorce rate for traditional marriages would be 0.... okay rant over..

Maybe you should seek employment at the "hog farm"- it is my right, and you are acting like a spoiled child, a sissie, i will work to the end AGAINST IT. There isn't much to enjoy when we work to keep this country financially secure, I :p have the right to speech & the right to vote. I will really be surprised if this outrageous, ridiculous asking for (Marriage) for gay's passes, this will be an election issue, hopefully another idiot will not run like Kerry to bring on this foolish craze.

I'm sure authentic marriage license's can be created. better than nothing, hahahahahahahaha....Good Luck!

Ahhh.. there it is. The typical conservative right anwser ranting about their rights of speech and voting. Amazing how you always seem to hide behind them when you want to make sure that the rights you are afforded under the law remain yours alone. Yep.. an authentic marriage license. That's the way to go. That way all you politically correct hypocrites can flash them at each other as you goose step down the road.

What is wrong with PRESERVATION! An Endangered species? Control, limitations, there may be people some day who may want to come here to get away from that idea? Civil Union, Perfectly Nice. We need to STOP - Bending the rules, Have I Told You Lately, I love you anyway? Save it for later, for now, make the best of it, if you love-each other - then say I DO.... :driving:

Hell.. I would rather try to reason with a 13 year old.. that would be easier than trying to rationally discuss this topic with a member of the Westboro Baptist Church and Fred Phelps..

You are an example of why GAY Marriage is to be Banned for good. The mentality you exhibit needs examination by a PSYCHIATRIC physician. Yes they have mirrors for you to view yourself, you can suck your thumb. any questions? I didn;t think so, take the step & call for help. Need i send a check to cover expenses? It that simple, okay? :-6

Okay.. I give up. Your superior moral standing and obvious intelligence is too much for me. The definative arguements you have presented in this debate have just overwhelmed me with thier logic and presentation. Apparently Fred and his Westboro cronies have nothing to fear as long as they have people like you supported thier agenda. Of course you do know who he is don't you.. gasp.. how could I question your superior knowledge of traditional values and there prime defender..

You need to check on your emotional well being, remember forums are a place to discuss, it mentions Debate, did you see that? The topic of Gay Marriage to me is hilarious, it fires people up, as you have seen right before your eye-balls.

If you cannot have fun, then you are a grey-dead-head.

:wah: :wah:

For The Topic, i really see no hope for passage of gay marriage, i really don't. I will try not to continue my comments about the subject, i am drawn to the response by people, who want the world to be nice and happy as long as things go their way. Have a nice day! :wah:

yes.. these forums are a place for intelligent discussion and debate. Somehow from our back and forth here I don't think that you are capable of that without resorting to name calling or questioning my mental capacities. Apparently, after reading a number of your posts here in the forums, that is how you defend your position on a number of controversial topics. Since that appears to be the case, I won't be lowering myself to your level in the future. You do have your right to believe what you want and say what you want, but I don't have to respond to your unsubstantiated ravings..

It was not asked for any scholastic testing to register here, was that required? I guess we have exposed a fragile nerve. This is forum talk, you just don;t know what to expect. Imus, Howard Stern, Jerry Springer, there are so many Celebrites that say anything they want, so why can't I say what i think? I do not understand?

How do you know i am not intelligent, thus the fact, i am in opposition of the related title per. discussion? Yes you are solemly correct, to address mental capacities is not appropriate, i agree, my apologies. :driving:

No. you are correct. There was no IQ testing required to register for the forums. But your unsupported rantings were not only annoying but insulting. You have every right to speak your mind, and say what you think, but do so in a manner that is not insulting to other members of the forum. The so-called celebrities that you mention are nothing but ego driven ratings hounds who could not intelligently discuss a controversial topic if it jumped up in front of them. I accept your apology and apologize for insinuating that you were not an intelligent person. Peace..

There are so many serial killers too, but we don't tend to accept that as a basis for behavior. Meaning, right and wrong is not based on what other people do, but on your own definitions of right and wrong. Make sense?

Paula wrote: How do you know i am not intelligent, thus the fact, i am in opposition of the related title per. discussion? Yes you are solemly correct, to address mental capacities is not appropriate, i agree, my apologies. :driving:
You probably are intelligent, which makes your style of debate - well, sad. I have read many of your posts, and have found them to be full of name calling and insults. A child can do that, so this style doesn't exactly highlight how smart you may be.

No one has said that you're not entitlted to your views or to air them. We've tried to let you know that the way in which you express them doesn't lead to further conversation. Be frank, honest, open - that's very cool. Be strong in your views if that's who you are.

But to insult those who are talking to you, or to eliminate a topic by attacking those who are involved has no intellectual meat. It's just fluff, and not worth being mad about nor responding to.

This is going to sound very arrogant, but I'm going to write it anyway. Read material on critical thinking. Learn how to state your views without lapsing into fallacies (whenever possible, we all do it from time to time).

And if you choose not to do that, and/or if you choose to continue the way you are, then that's fine too. (shrug). Just don't expect people to keep responding because most people get wise to it very quickly, then we ignore. Modern-day shunning, nasty stuff, and I'm certain that no one really wants to do that to you.

Expand upon (Civil Union), make it something special. Utilize that right and make the best of it. ;) now whats wrong with that? Celebrate!!!! :p

Is this the same pope who denounces birth control in the starving overpopulated 3rd world?

As I am not a catholic I do not have to obey the pope, or the catholic church.

I am not an expert on American history but I am not sure that the original Thanksgiving was started by catholics either.

Dont peg me as anti catholic I have my own beliefs that will remain private, what I do resent are people telling anyone else how to live their lives, points of view are fine in my view, orders are a different thing entirley.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, that is the point of them and I totally agree with you Bothwell. no-one is forcing you to agree with gay marriage Paula but then again gay people have as much right as everyone else to be free and do what they want with their lives.

Everyone wants to be happy and this is what they are seeking happiness.

you are entitled to your opinion Paula but there is no need to be quite so offensive and one sided about things.

Put your energy into GAY Marriage, if you are so consumed. (Pansy) talk to me, support what you believe? What are you doing for the Gay community about this? I want to keep my husband and not trade him for a woman? is that okay? am I the weird one here? :o  i am not attracted to women...sexually... :lips: sorry.
