You are all special and wonderful

Post by weeder »

To all of my Forum Garden Friends... You are all so special and wonderful to me. Stumbling across this place years ago, was one of the most unique experiences I have ever had. All of you have never been anything but an inspiration to me. I can be gone for weeks at a time, I share and you respond with encouragement, and positive feed back You have made me feel better over the years, than most people who I have met in the flesh. You have all taught me patience, and made me more understanding. How incrdedible is it to feel love for people you have never met? You are all very real to me. My only regret is being so wrapped up in my own troubles, that I never have the time to respond to all of your needs here. Love to all of you. I am so grateful to have found FG, and I hopr that tonite each and every one of you is feeling serene, and content.

cheers Laura, you are a special and wonderful woman and I count myself of the fortunate to call you friend. Your posts are always good to read, I almost always can relate word for word.

I was thinking about you today, how you express yourself so well and I can comprehend it all, as if you are writing about me...and most of us, if not all of us want to feel that someone can relate and conncect to us, be it on a personal or even an intellectual level. We all need to feel that someone gives a hoot....or we wouldn't be at a forum, in my opinon.....yes, there are those that don't come here for that reason, and that is all well and fine too, but you have mostly always been on a personal level of communication with us, and I admire you more than I can say in words....and that's the truth (raspberry--don't know if you remember that from way back when).....

I hope you are having a good evening too my dear!:-4

Wendy.... i think of you often. I walked in your shoes. Two sons to raise, a no good ex husband, who didnt pay child support. Me struggling daily to keep the wolves away from the door. Amidst all this stress and heartache, trying to still have a little piece of living for me. i think that true human beings are drawn to a place like this. People with tremendous feeling, who have the desire and need to express themselves, and to connect with others. i think we love with no strings attached. We are all givers, not takers. And we all take more pleasure from making others feel good, than we do making ourselves feel good. that is a rare, and wonderful thing.

:-4..there you did it again!! yep, I agree 100%, you just described ME....me to the "TEE".....wow. The wolves are definately at my door and I would definately love to throw a big piece of beef in their mouths and fulfill their desires and go on with my life, just doesn't seem to happen that way does it?

I day dream on a daily basis, and it always involves helping other people. I know without a shadow of a doubt if I won the lottery, I would be giving more than I would spend on myself, well maybe not MORE, but equally....I love to give and take care of others' needs, I have a problem with being the victim, I've been only because of circumstances and always come out of it somehow, and usually along the way, people have helped me. There are so many people at this forum that have helped me in so many different ways, it just BLOWS my mind....do you know that my own father hasn't even asked if there is anything he can do to help? And he complained about my mom offering me space in their garage for my "stuff" that I don't really need, but I can't part with (memorabilia of the kids & clothes etc.). I was going to go get a storage unit, but Mom insisted on using their garage, dad is not happy about it, so now I worry everytime I take stuff down there....and I'm throwing out as much as I can.....:-1:-1

I didn't mean to get off topic, my point I am trying to make is that people are thoughtful and caring, but not always the people around you physically...I don't know where I would be without the support of friends from the internet....my sister in law thinks I'm crazy, but I know that I wouldn't be as positive and goal-oriented if I didn't have you all to help me along this journey....thanks FG friends... I truly am thankful!:-4:-4

When I was very young, I knew in my head that life was just like Monopoly.

Pass go, collect 200.00. Or go to jail. Sometimes you would be on a roll, and have all of the purple cards, and sometimes you got wiped out. For a very long time, I felt that I was winning, but now I am so very tired of playing.

Wendy, I cant believe you mentioned your dad, I have, of course, a dad. But, as a father, he has never been there for me, in any way. He is very good at helping other people, but is emmotionally unavailable to his own family. The relationship that girls have with their dads, influences the choices they make in men. It is just as important for us, as it is for boys to have a male role model. I am very envious of young women who have a relationship with " Daddy" Oh, daddy will help me. Or, my dad is always there for me. etc.... My dad helped turn me into a work horse. The only quality he held in high esteem was my ability to work hard. To this day, he is only happy if he hears I am working myself to death. Talents, or being a good person, mean nothing to him, and he doesnt recognize femininity, as he is not very masculine himself. The whole world thinks that he is a very nice man, but actually he has quite a mean streek, and he takes pleasure in making comments that make you feel bad. I do still call him, because deep inside I am hoping so much that he will come through, and be a father. But every time I hang up the phone, I want to throw up and I swear I will never call him again. My former husband was an alcoholic who terrorized me and my two young sons. Being married to him was like taking 25 trips to hell and back. My dad would leave my apartment years ago, bump into my ex in the driveway when he came to visit... and I would see my dad SHAKE HIS HAND!! The message was, its ok to be a bastard, if youve got a penis.

Nice. very very nice. And so, we rise above it. And we trudge on. Getting stronger, every step of the way. But deep inside, we need the love and support, and warmth of human relationships to nourish us. Its a very good thing, that we all have found some of that here.

There are still a lot of good and wonderful people in the world:-4 This is the best thing the internet has taught me:thinking: It even overides the fact that yes i have been unfortunate enough to see sheer nastiness and cruelty on the internet.

I wish you all you wish for yourself Weeder:-4 and you too Wendy:-4

Are you my sister ?

Your Father sounds exactly like mine. And so true how a Father/Dad shapes the girl's choice on men in her life.

I never did like Monopoly..

I've always enjoyed you

The world's a strange school, I think you've been making more use of it than most of us. What you've been able to do would never have crossed the mind of earlier generations as ever becoming possible, and at the same time you're fighting battles that they'd know all about.

I think about those earlier generations sometimes. One of the things about time is they can't continually be telling us how badly we're managing things but I bet they would if they were around. A fat lot they'd know about living in this environment.

I love this place, it helps me keep my life in perspective, no matter how hard things get I stop and think about someone here who is struggling, pick myself up, have a word with myself and get going again.

That sounds as if I use this place as therapy or a crutch - well in a way I suppose I do. The love and laughter make me feel happy, the daily support that is shown to everyone makes me feel humble, the complaints and gripes and fallings out help me realise that we're all human and to get along most of the time is pretty good.

The vast majority of people here are amongst the kindest I've ever met. Friendships over the internet can be just as valid and as important as real life friends.

I miss my friends when I've been too busy to come here...:-4

Theres more than one reason Jasper. Number one is that were lucky. Number two because we are smart, and number three we have more to do in this world than to cater to the whims of a big baby. ( All of you women who are with out of the ordinary men, are excluded from this reply )
