poll if i was p.m would you vote for me?
hello its only me the ever faithfull AA grumpy.
with the council elections nearly here again and national elections about a year away
here is what i would make my election manefesto.
immigration.
this would be my first priority by closing our borders and send illegal immigrants back at the port of entry i would then use the combined efforts of the police armed forces army navy r a f customs and excise and immigration to forcibly deport all illiegal aliens held in detention centres and those who are in prison after completing their sentences or commits a crime in the uk and then move on to those living here by fast tracking their claim to asylum if they are in full time work and deporting those who are not.
crime
i would bring back the death penalty for murder borstals and detention centres for young offenders and more community service for first offenders and for petty crime
but with the threat of jail for repeat offenders.
drugs
all drugs even cannabis would be zero tolerence with possession however small going before the courts.
drinking
i would dump 24hr drinking & return to licenced opening hours smoking would be at the landlords discression the no smoking law would be dumped.
e.u
i would give the british people a vote on wether we stay in the e.u or leave
and i would honour the peoples decision.
transport
i would cap the price of petrol to £1 a litre road tax would be a fixed charge according to the size of your car and i would return to british railways as train operating contracts ran out re deregulate the buses and allow anyone with a proper operators licence to freely compete against each other large companies such as stagecoach would be closly monitored to ensure fair play with the withdrawal of o licences for those do not compete fairly.
employment
i would return to training schemes (work experience) and penalise those who will not work by withdrawing benefits completly claimants will be given 26 weeks to find and keep a job or be refered to work experience.
hospitals and schools
these would be improved with more doctors and nurses and teachers taken on with clean comfortable hospitals no targets just healthcare how it used to be.
council tax
this would remain but local councils must use this money every year to fund local council services without help from central government.
quango posts and excessive non essential spending would be abolished and non preforming councils penalised.
police
i would recruit more retained police officers and part time special constables who would be paid a wage and empower special constables with the same powers as an ordinary police officer police would be put back on the beat and every police station available 24 hours a day all crime would be investigated and attempts made to catch the culprits and red tape and form filling abolished.
recycling
i would make all councils think green and recycle all items ie glass paper cardboard
etc if its recyclable recycle it.
householders must play their part too with penalties for non recycling households
bin collections should return to weekly and the non recycle bin taken to a plant where it is checked through for anything recycleable before it goes off to land fill .
coal
coal is still a resorce i would re open all mothballed collieries and retained collieries and export the coal or retain it as an alternative fuel to oil or gas nuclear would not be an option.
foriegn
i would withdraw troops from iraq and any other conflict where we do not belong .
and only use troops only if the uk is threatened.
general
i would make any illegal encampment on private or public land be it gypsies hippies green peace friends of the earth etc subject to immediate removal by force if required by the police without a court order.
irish gypsies would be encouraged to return to ireland or settle in the uk
e.u gypsies would be deported back to france.
this covers most subjects WOULD YOU VOTE FOR THE GRUMPY PARTY ?

Depends on how you define "illegal" and "emmigrant", there are quite different patterns of emmigration going on, there is emmigration internally within the EU, then there is emmigration from ex-empire countries, then there are genuine asylum seekers (from places like Basra, you know how it is), and then there are are economic opportunists as well. Like all things its a complicated picture, and a little more honesty and debate about emmigration would be a good thing, but your view is pretty reactionary so I wouldn't vote for you, if I was living in the U.K..
crime
i would bring back the death penalty for murder borstals and detention centres for young offenders and more community service for first offenders and for petty crime
but with the threat of jail for repeat offenders.
I would be against the death penalty at present, but the other ideas could be looked at, I am not sure if they are the answer, but certainly public order and crime are punishment need to be reassessed in the UK and here in Ireland as well to be honest.
drugs
all drugs even cannabis would be zero tolerence with possession however small going before the courts.
Yes, unfortunatly this probably use up all of the resources of your criminal justice system and police to enforce, and again its all dependent on how you classify drugs, a new system of classification based on harm has been developed by scientists, and a new regime of enforcement should be developed based on this I think, as the old system hasn't worked very well in regulating the use and supply of a lot of proscribed drugs.
drinking
i would dump 24hr drinking & return to licenced opening hours smoking would be at the landlords discression the no smoking law would be dumped.
I would agree with that, there has to be a complete change in social attitudes to drinking in the UK, and Ireland, as its causing too many problems, both personal and social, though the smoking ban is a beneficial thing, and your attitude on that doesn't match your attitude on other drugs, seeing as tobacco is responsible for more deaths than all the other drugs (including Alcohol) combined.
e.u
i would give the british people a vote on wether we stay in the e.u or leave
and i would honour the peoples decision.
That's fair enough, it's a decision for the people of Britain, no arguments, just don't expect to get back in afterwards. Oh and make sure and collect all the UK nationals living in other EU countries and bring them home, as they drink a lot and wreck the place.
transport
i would cap the price of petrol to £1 a litre road tax would be a fixed charge according to the size of your car and i would return to british railways as train operating contracts ran out re deregulate the buses and allow anyone with a proper operators licence to freely compete against each other large companies such as stagecoach would be closly monitored to ensure fair play with the withdrawal of o licences for those do not compete fairly.
Yeah, except that the price of oil is not decided by the government, so price caps are pointless, the road tax idea would be interesting (in Ireland we have a new system where the Road Tax is only based on the CO2 emission of your engine, not the size of the car or anything else. The argument for bringing back British rail, and a public transport system owned by the public is a strong one, I would agree with that.
employment
i would return to training schemes (work experience) and penalise those who will not work by withdrawing benefits completly claimants will be given 26 weeks to find and keep a job or be refered to work experience.
Again, reform of the Welfare system from habituating dependency to facilitating someone to train and obtain a job is required, I don't know what the answers are in detail, its a very complex picture.
hospitals and schools
these would be improved with more doctors and nurses and teachers taken on with clean comfortable hospitals no targets just healthcare how it used to be.
Very understandable, self-governance and priority-setting by head teachers, and consultants would be better than getting central government to run everything, with ever more meaningless rules. But it has to be paid for, so funding from taxation will have to be improved.
council tax
this would remain but local councils must use this money every year to fund local council services without help from central government.
quango posts and excessive non essential spending would be abolished and non preforming councils penalised.
I don't know enough about the local government system in England and Wales to comment.
police
i would recruit more retained police officers and part time special constables who would be paid a wage and empower special constables with the same powers as an ordinary police officer police would be put back on the beat and every police station available 24 hours a day all crime would be investigated and attempts made to catch the culprits and red tape and form filling abolished.
In general I think that expanding police numbers, instead of creating a police-force on the cheap would be better, I think in general there needs to be more muscular and high profile policing (particularly in relation to violent crime and public order), both in the UK and in Ireland. There are other issues as well however, in terms of equipment, community relations, allowing the police to make more decisions at a local level, again its a complicated picture
recycling
i would make all councils think green and recycle all items ie glass paper cardboard
etc if its recyclable recycle it.
householders must play their part too with penalties for non recycling households
bin collections should return to weekly and the non recycle bin taken to a plant where it is checked through for anything recycleable before it goes off to land fill.
Sounds good.
coal
coal is still a resorce i would re open all mothballed collieries and retained collieries and export the coal or retain it as an alternative fuel to oil or gas nuclear would not be an option.
Coal is still a resource, but just burning it up a chimney isn't an option, until proper carbon sequestration technology is develop, coal is compromised. Nuclear is the best medium term option, until more comprehensive sustainable energy generation and transmission technologies are developed.
foriegn
i would withdraw troops from iraq and any other conflict where we do not belong .
and only use troops only if the uk is threatened.
Not much argument, except the devil is working out where you belong, also the security of the UK can be threatened well before there are tanks (of whatever colour) at Calais. Which is why there was always an emphasis on the Royal Navy being a globally active strategic force since the 18th century. In the 21st century, with the reality of strategic nuclear weapons, a very politically unstable world, and the advent of economic and resource wars, its going to be very hard for a small nation state like the UK to ensure its security alone.
general
i would make any illegal encampment on private or public land be it gypsies hippies green peace friends of the earth etc subject to immediate removal by force if required by the police without a court order.
irish gypsies would be encouraged to return to ireland or settle in the uk

Erm? Are you suggesting that people shouldn't be allowed to gather just because you percieve them to be undesirables? Thats all a bit Gobbels isn't it? Sometimes its the people who own the land who should be chastized, not the tree huggers, as for the Irish travellers, no way, we are not taking them back, they are payback for 800 years of oppression buddy, them and Westlife.
Anyway, we have to put up with god-awful English crusties and condescending boho trendy types coming over to Galway and Kerry to discover their spirituality (man), and then end up clogging the place up with their volvos, and their complaints about our fox hunting, veal-exporting in trucks, rabbit-shooting ways, so what goes around comes around mate. :wah: Also, Gypsies do not come from France, thats Wogs, or as we call them: French people.
Gypsies come from the Romany areas of central Europe, and then originally Northern India, a lot like ordinary Europeans, such as white English people, who are germanic nomads (you know, like teutonic gypsies) and come originally from somewhere over that way, of course us Celts who are the original inhabitants of these islands have been here since way way back.
In general, although not all of your ideas are based on reactionary policies, some of them are even quite laudable, quite a few of them are a bit far right to say the least, and I wouldn't vote for you if I was living in the UK, though I have a suspicion that quite a few would.

The way things are going, one day, hell might freeze over.
As an aside, there are very few illegal aliens in the UK - the vast majority have an engraved invite labelled "for the good of the economy".
The day the BNP are elected to govern us the British people will truly be revolting.

the majority of the british people did not ask for this influx of illegal immigrants or to be a part of teflon tonys e.u superstate did we get a vote NO!
because the smiling viper knows that the british people would have voted a resounding NO so he brought it in by the back door.
in the general election i vote conservative because i will not vote for the other two parties.
liberal because i do not believe in voting for the hand wringing do gooders.
and labour because they have already put this country in a position we cannot get out of.
i would vote BNP if we had a candidate here in nottinghamshire but as yet we have none but the day will come when every consituancy has a BNP candidate.
and dispite the warnings of new labour new danger you voted blair in!!!!!
you deserve everything you get .

The BNP are just the foulest of the foul.
As a separate issue, could you tell me who these "illegal immigrants" are that you're objecting to (as I said previously, the vast majority of immigrants are here perfectly legally).
because the smiling viper knows that the british people would have voted a resounding NO so he brought it in by the back door.
in the general election i vote conservative because i will not vote for the other two parties.
liberal because i do not believe in voting for the hand wringing do gooders.
and labour because they have already put this country in a position we cannot get out of.
i would vote BNP if we had a candidate here in nottinghamshire but as yet we have none but the day will come when every consituancy has a BNP candidate.
and dispite the warnings of new labour new danger you voted blair in!!!!!
you deserve everything you get .
Not me mate - all politicians are the scum of the Earth.

how many come in to the uk hidden in the back of lorries ?
i speak from experience having seen the camps of illegal immigrants at callais waiting to get in to the uk by sneaking in to the backs of lorries or trying to jump freight trains at the tunnel entrance.
open your eyes man and face the reallity of schools over run by eastern europeans who dont speak a word of or very little english our housing stocks depleted because they are being given to asylum seekers.
asylum seekers begging on the underground asylum seekers taking our jobs we british being treated as second class citizens in our own country ITS WRONG!!!
teflon tony started all this and now hes moved on to a higher perch and left the mess behind him for others to clean up
GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF THE SAND AND WAKE UP TO REALITY!!!!
how many more need to come in before people like you realise the bomb that labour left us with goes off
we need to act now before its too late and we become a virtual third world ourselves
then the illegals will disappear back home but by then it will be too late :-5

Shall we talk reality here?
Firstly, all EU nationals have right of access (baring the quota system for Bulgarians and Romanians) so "the EU influx" does not involve arriving hidden in the back of a lorry.
Secondly, asylum seekers are not illegal immigrants, they come seeking help and, until we decide not to help them, are legally entitled to do so.
Yes, there are illegal immigrants but not the ones you are ranting about and, far from mass immigration being started by Tony Blair, take a look back at 1972 and Ted Heath allowing the Ugandan Asians right of entry - it didn't hurt us then and it's not hurting us now.
In general the EU workers in this country have come to work and work they have - the Treasury estimate a nett advantage to the economy of £6BN / pa as a result of there presence.
Before you trot out your tired and emotive diatribe you might like to read the Rivers of Blood speech and see how it should be done - Enoch knew how to put a speech together at least even if his predictions were wrong.
What you should be worrying about is the declining standards is our schools and the lack of education our children are receiving. It's this that will drag the UK down into the third world, not the presence of the dreaded Johnny Foreigner in our pristine country.
Have you been on the Underground recently? Most of the beggars down there are British through and through, I cannot remember the last Eastern European I saw walking through the carriage with his cup and sob story in hand.

im afaird we will have agree to disagree on this one.
you see this possibly through liberal rose coloured glasses or your like the politians bury your head in the sand and refuse to accept this problem.
with you living in london i would have though that you would see all the illegals, beggars, homeless , etc as the majority of this is in london or dont you want to see them? !!
its just as bad here up north if not worse.
things will get worse down your way if you continue to vote for red ken.
he.s fleecing you londoners to death with the congestion charge etc and he,s a staunch supporter of the continued influx of illegal immigrants coming in to the uk.
there is a chance for change this may and kick red ken out.
but choose wisely with your vote at the end of the day ENOCH POWEL WAS RIGHT

Which of the facts that I presented do you take issue with? That EU nationals have the right to enter and work in this country legally? That asylum seekers are in the country legally until refused asylum? That mass immigration did not start with Tony Blair? That the majority of beggars on the London Underground are ethnic brits?
Yes, I see a lot of beggars, homeless, etc. in London - I live close to several shelters so I see them all of the time. I see them enough to know who they are and where they come from which you, apparently, don't.
I notice you're now changing the subject from illegal immigrants to Red Ken. For your information I did not vote for him and I would never do so - unless the alternative was a BNP candidate.
We will disagree for as long as you present emotive rubbish as truth - stick to some facts as we can discuss the issues, continue to prefer to ignore the facts in preference of a good story and we'll carry on disagreeing.
