dunno if i should even post this thread here ... guess i should post it on one of

the counseling threads but ... from my own experience here i do believe that

there is more understanding and compassion here on FOC than i could ever find

anywhere .else ...

poet ... slightly rich ... handsome ... successful ... the whole nine yards ... wow so

what??? i once tried to kill myself so what does that tell you about my life???

but enough about me ... you all know about me ...

but i want to be deadly serious for a moment and ask you all for your help ...

a very very good lady friend of mine ... yes a friend ... she lives in the uk

which is like 6000 miles away ... has a very serious problem with her 15 year old

daughter ... my friend ... lets call her joanne ... has been badly let down by the men in her life and is a single parent ... here is a copy of a pm i sent to another friend about joanne's problem ... it's self explanatory ...

Cannibis Drugs and Cutting

Friend sent me this ... her daughter is fifteen ... please does anyone has any advice i can pass on to her?

"Found out a few days ago that my daughter has started smoking cannabis again.... the school foned me to tell me to collect her, as she seemed a bit 'out of it'... seems she smoked a joint before school.

Last week I was foned to inform me that she had cut her leg badly at school (self harm) and she was told to take the rest of the week off school... the first day back, I get the call to say she's stoned and I have to collect her.

Had a meeting with the school yesterday and with her Social Services worker and CAMHS worker... (childrens mental health services worker) and they all said that they don't know how to progress any further with her... she is manipulating them - telling them all different stories....

She's been wanting a puppy for ages.. so last week, quite by accident, we acquired a 5 month old Lakeland Terrier (Archie) - he is adoreable, but I made it clear that she will have to take him for walks, feed him, play with him, clean him etc..... all worked well for a few days, but now she's got a new friend and she is going out every night and completely disregarding her new dog, and basically leaving me to it. I suspect she's also taking drugs again.... although she's denying this... and I'm at a loss as to where to go from here! "

now since these events my friends daughter ... and remember she is only 15 ...

has started sleeping with men to get money for her drug habit ... in other words

she is now a drug addicted prostitute ...

as you can imagine joanne is at her wits end ... she has been to see the

local "authorities" and know what they did? bloody gave her condoms and new needles to give to her child!!! this in England ... a first world democracy????

please can anyone help? i personally have absolutely no experience in this kind of thing but i so want to help joanne cos its gonna kill her in the end ... i know!

JJ..........she could be losing her daughter just as someone very close to me did.He lost his daughter through drugs..........oh I dont mean she died although she could have as he hasnt heard from her in years.......I mean she tried to con him and when he realised what she was like that was it.Drugs is like drink but even worse and its bad enough to have someone in your life who has a drink problem never mind drugs.They will steal from anybody and sell anything to get money and they have no principles at all.I suggest your friend keeps an eye on the dog as the daughter will sell it ...........I also suggest she keeps her money well away from her.This woman needs help urgently so she can help her daughter from a life that is full of horror and also if she dont want to lose her altogether she has to sort this out...............NOW.

Jonesy, i dont think i can be of much help with your problem,, its so sad:-1 I would say she needs to exert a bit of tough love,, you really shouldnt let your kids manipulate you. Im afraid i would just go in to a mad panic and padlock her in to her room and not let her out till i got through to her and the drugs were out of her system:o Mind i would probably get done by social services then

JJ, I've checked through the type of threads on FG which may cater for this sort of problem, but there doesn't seem to be one. I suggest you start a thread yourself with this as your opening post, and just see if anybody can come forward with some useful advice, contacts in the UK - there are special 'drug abuse' groups I know. Also the police in the UK should have contacts for such groups and 'rehab' establishments, as when they have a youngster brought in for stealing and they find they take drugs, it is often part of their 'conditional bail' that the youngster attends one of these establishments, otherwise they may be put in a Young Offenders Institution'. I really feel for parents of youngsters who go 'off the rails' like that, and it all starts with peer pressure, and parents just can't be on their backs all the time, or know where they are or who they're with. This youngster is obviously out of the control of her mother, and is in great danger. She could also be taken into care, which may or may not be a good thing for her.

Best of luck to your friend, she will surely need it.

i dont think any of us are going to be much help with this. it seems to me that the authoritys dont want to know until some dire event takes place.

i watch a few of the chat shows that are on daytime tv here and nearly all of them, when discussing this subject seem to say there is no sort of help they can have unless they go on some sort of waiting list first then, sadly, it is often too late.
