A 48 year old piano tuner from Liverpool slashed his wrists & throat

when he was sentenced to 5 years imprisonment for rape.

How awful that must have been for the jury!

5 years for rape! My goodness he got off lightly.

Lucky for him he wasn't tried here. He would have gotten a whole lot more than 5 years!

I don't know about the States BTS, but here in the UK the saddest part is,

offenders generally only usually serve a third of the sentence!

As BTS has pointed out here in the US there isn't much difference, and most don't serve their full sentence here as well. :-5 The only time they may get life, or death sentences is if they kill their victim.

Shame isn't it, you can rape over and over again, be a habitual sex offender, be a many time arrested, and sentenced child molestor. But until you actually kill your victim there is no justice, and some times not even then.. :-5

I don't understand this at all my heart breaks everytime a child goes missing, and usually it's some sick child molestor that should have never been let out of jail that kills them. :-1

He really didn't do a very good job of trying to kill himself!!!

Deputy court manager Phil Hagan said later: "Mr Davies's injuries are very superficial and medical treatment was not required or requested." :-2

These date rape cases never seem to be punished severely. There seems to be some perennial silly notion that if the woman knows her assailant then its not as bad as being raped by a stranger.

He was in a position of trust and if he was on a date with the lady clearly must have had her confidence to some degree.

How terrible for her that her trust was rewarded by being defiled? It will be so difficult for her to trust someone again in similar circumstances, if ever!

Her life will never be the same and she may never recovefully.

He should have got ten years.

I heard a speaker today that got 15 years for a gun violation.

He actually only served 2.5 years.

He was a Latin King and now he is minister.

A cop once told me that date rape just means the gal changed her mind. Of course he also admitted to "coon hunting" which means he would beat people up just for being black.

Well at least he saved the tax payers some money if the family dosen't win a wrongfull death suit.
