Ah... Thelwell ponies!!!! Good one Gill. And awesome, Kathy. Klees is good!!!
I just took Dieter to the zoo. Walked about three hundred miles and saw a load of amazing animals, and a bird display which included an Andes condor. I think we're going for a swim now.....
i do hope everybody has got their bits tied down or hatches battened as this storm coming up is getting worse by the hour by the look of it. i shall watch the forcast on country file at 11-45 today cos they are pretty acurate.
the worst of it is supposed to hit us here in cornwall tomorrow morning, hope the dog can understand what the weather man is saying and save me having to go out in it.

Like I said, Helen, you can still insert it in your post by clicking 'edit' at the bottom right of your post. You can add all sorts of things, change spelling etc, if things are not as you want them in your post, just press 'edit' , and change it !! By the way you don't have to put your reason for editing
Also by the way, don't forget to press 'save' when you've finished editing and you can re-edit as often as you like --- I have just re-edited this particular post 3 times !!!!
Good morning everyone. We had a very windy night and it's still windy. I don't know what kind of wind came through my neighbors & my house yesterday but it was strong enough to take my garden mats and twist them all up. I had them hanging on the fence and clotheline and now they are on the ground. What a mess!

Plus it's freezing, but at least it's sunny.
Hi Ducky !! We're going to be in for some high winds tonight and tomorrow (Monday) and of course the wind drops the temp. down ! The sun is shining here where I am in the Midlands, and the wind is not very strong at the moment - although it was yesterday ! It is also going to be unsettled weather all the week, deep joy !!:-5  We'll just have to wrap up warm - back to the winter fur-lined undies :wah:

Hope6;797591 wrote: We had a little wind yesterday, but it wasn't bad. Not like a few weeks ago, we had wind so bad it knocked the electricity out for almost two days!
I don't handle having no electricity very well.:wah:
Hi, Hope ! Nice to see you here today Yes I would think it can be very difficult to be without electricity when you have a small baby to care for, and also if the weather is cold. Well you obviously managed despite that problem. Gawd, it makes you wonder how folks managed before electricity arrived, doesn't it ? :-3 :-4
Hope6, we lost eletric for about 5 seconds, but it felt like 5 min. And when you are caught in that w/a 6 yr old.......scary for him but I thought it was neat:) The last time we lost electric was last summer for only a couple of hours, but it was already night time anyway. Kind of nice I thought plus everybody came outside cause it was way too hot upstairs (no a/c):wah:
Hope all are well. Yes, we had a bad day and night at the shore also. It was raining cats and dogs and the wind blew everything about. Finally found my garbage can up on the sand dunes and dragged it home yellling at it to settle down. Think it wanted to go for a swim.:wah: I seriously have to tie things down when there's high winds.
KathyEllen, when we stay in Ocean City, they tie the lids to the crates where they store the cans. So, there are never lids flying around on a windy day:wah:

Yeah, my mom is always telling me about her childhood, they had no electricity, I think they handled it because they had never had any before, they didn't know what they were missing.:wah:
Luckly with the baby, he's very easygoing, he just kinda wondered where the TV went. :wah: and I have a portable heater that runs on kerosene and oil lamps too. Hey, I live out in the middle of nowhere, you have to be prepared for anything.:wah:

Hi qsducks, I haven't been to Ocean City in years, but it's a lovely area. I love to go to Cape May and the Renault Winery when I have visitors. Do you like the area?
oh that makes sense then. I live near the city so it really doesn't affect us when the electric goes out. We've never lost it for more than a couple of hours.

yeah, I think they repair the larger populated areas first, so we are usually some of the last on their list.
G#Gill;797743 wrote: Hi Chez !!! Nice you popped in matey, have a good afternoon, wherever you 're going xxx:wah::D;)
I have had one of those days where I havent stopped Gill, kids homework, dog walking, shopping, cooking and laundry lol...now we need to go visiting....:wah:
