Definitely, enjoy the occasion! It's even mild out with a fresh breeze, you could go out and invigorate for a few minutes. Well, it is here anyway.

Aww... thank you all so much!!!!!! :-4
Sunny-bunny Rap runs round giving great big hugs to Abbey, Gail, Chezzie, Laura, Kathy Ellen, Chris, Spotalicious and Kazalala.
This dumb bunny signed up with a new ISP and can't remember her olde Rapper password.....duh............*chuckles!*
Well, me dears, I've had a lovely day. I started a new job about 6 weeks ago working in a primary school. It's a mainstream school although we also have a lot of special needs kids and eight autistic kids. Its a lot of fun, the kids are very loving and sweet, but they can also be incredibly noisy! When one of the autistic kids kicks off we have screaming that can be heard throughout the school and tables and chairs fly! On Friday a teacher was telling an autistic boy to do something when he screamed at her, picked up a chair and threw it at her! She stepped back and opened the door so that the chair could fly harmlessly out into the corridor, unfortunately I happened to be passing at that exact moment so I looked up to see the door open, hear the child screaming and see a chair flying straight at me! Luckily chairs are heavy and kids aren't too strong, so it landed literally right by my side with a bang. Whew! Lucky escape!
So yesterday, Feb 29th, was my first payday! Woohoo! This girl has money and is on a mission to spend! *grins* Especially as today is my birthday and tomorrow is Mothers Day (in the UK at least!) Major celebrating and spending! Oh yeah!
My best friend is getting married and asked me to come and help choose the material for her wedding dress today! She's planning a medieval wedding and wants her dress to have a black corset and long purple skirt. She's been married before (as has he) and they've both done the family wedding with the big white meringue affair and photo's with great aunt Augusta whom they last saw when they were six! This time they want a casual affair with people just having fun and enjoying themselves. People can dress up or not, whatever they wish. My friend Sarah wants a medieval dress, her beloved wants to dress like a pirate (not medieval I know! :wah:) but something like Captain Hook (from the film Hook), although without the wig and hat and with an Edwardian (?) style coat in black rather than Hook's red. They both have 8 year old sons who will dress up as knights and my friend also has a daughter (11) who doesn't want to dress up at all, so she has a beautiful and very elegant bridesmaids dress in wine-coloured silk, which makes her look 16, so she, of course, is now a very happy bunny!
It's a mish-mash of style's, although based around medieval. Having said that, Sarah's brother wants to hire a Jedi outfit for the wedding and has been granted permission. As Sarah says ... so long as everyone has fun and enjoys themselves, she'll have a happy wedding.
This morning I opened my cards. I had money, chocolates, jewellery, books and magazines and some more money.
Yesterday at school the kids made Mothers Day cards for their mums. Some finished quite quickly and decided to make me some cards too. One little girl asked me how old I was and I told her '21 again - plus a little extra for postage and packing'
She made me a card that said 'Happy 22 birthday' Aww...Bless her cotton socks! One of the cards they made was signed by everybody in the class. Most of our kids are not terribly academic and I had the most amazing spellings of my name - all of them different and none of them right :wah: but it's so sweet to see how hard they try, they're all a sheer delight!
At lunchtime my friend Sarah collected me to go look for wedding dress material. (She also bought me a lovely card which said what a wonderful friend I was (hehe (blush!!)) and a beautiful bouquet of flowers) Then we went to a fabric warehouse where we expected to find the perfect stuff ... but there was absolutely nothing suitable! We were gutted! We'd been sure we would find something. Also, all the fabrics were about £20 per metre and we needed at least 20 metres! Luckily Sarah had allocated £1,000 for the wedding dress, although less would be preferable. So then Sarah suggested a little fabric shop that her mum loves, which was in a village about 10 miles away. We tootled off and found the place, then spent 20 minutes trying to park. However, the shop was worth all the hassle. There were some gorgeous fabrics there and we both fell in love with a rich satiny material which looks deep purple in one light and dark pink in another. Best of all it only cost £2.80 per metre (which just shows what a huge mark-up some shops put on their goods!) So we ordered 25 metres at roughly £3 per metre, which cost Sarah £75 in total instead of £400! Good, eh? Then we went off to have a lovely lunch together and lots of weddingy talk, then back to her house for a cup of tea and she showed me all the styles of wedding dresses she liked, from ones she'd seen online.
Finally we popped back to the shops so I could spend some of my lovely birthday loot on some gorgeous new clothes for work. My other half, Troll-slayer, (or as Weeder calls him - Fred *chuckles*!) treated us all to Pizza Hut pizza for dinner and the kids have actually allowed me to come on the puter and have a decent play on it for a change. Normally one or other of them is glued to the seat and refuses to be budged! Later on we'll have some gooey chocolate birthday cake and ... well, who knows what tonight holds? heeheehee *winks*
All-in-all a lurvely day! :-4

Sunny_bunny Rapunzel is bowled over by all the kind wishes she receives and runs around hugging Miss Maam, Nomad, Carla and Littlemissgiggle! :-4
And an extra hug to Diane for your very cute tortoise. He's adorable! :-4
I haven't been around much for quite a while
and when I do occasionally pop in, I tend to read threads but not really write in any. So I was completely amazed that folk remembered my birthday and were kind enough to send me good wishes. I've been completely bowled over by everyone's kind generosity.
Thankyou all. Melanie. xxx :yh_flower :yh_hugs :yh_flower
