Hi everybody ! I'm still here :wah:

mrsK, I'm surprised you heard about the earthquake over there !

Hi Carol, I'm also surprised that you didn't feel anything Mrs, as it was supposed to have reached as far south as London !

Kay, thanks for being around in our early hours !

Helen, the epicentre was only about 30 miles away from us, near to Market Rasen!

There haven't, as far as I am aware, been any injuries reported due to this 'minor'

but 'significant' earthquake, in our locality. But I think somebody was hurt in Yorkshire, with masonry falling on his hips while he was in bed.

We have been warned to be aware there could be after-shocks during today !

I hope our Kaz is OK, because the quake was reported as reaching Northumberland.

We are OK here, but the earthquake is quite a talking point on our local radio ! I just couldn't get to sleep though, so hopefully I may be able to grab 40 winks after lunchtime. :( :)

Good god you lot cant half talk:wah: well firstly i didnt feel any tremors last night although it has been on the radio, think Darlington and Hull etc. are a little more south from me. Anyway glad it wasnt any worse and you are ok Gill. mind i was out last night and had a bit to drink, so would probably sleep through an earthquake anyway:wah: Glad you got yer bargains Carol, and nice to se you had a visitor to cheer you up Helen. I'm coming back but my daughter has just popped in for a quick visit, so se you all soon.

Right im back:D had a pretty good night last night, we went to the comedy club, and both comedians and the compere were quite good. But i spent most of the time laughing at this random bloke who decided to join our company (sat next to us) and turned out to be a very strange man indeed, he also turned out to be one of those that have to keep shouting out things, so it was funny to see him getting put down from the comedians all the time, and even more funny was my daughter who was in hysterics most of the night because of him:wah::wah: She found it even more funny that he was sat right next to her boyfriend and kept wanting to talk to him and clink glasses all the time saying cheers hehe. We were sat right at the very front as my son knows the manager of the venue and thats where he requested our seats, so of course we were all prime targets :wah:

i'm making broth now, as my mam made some last week and sent some over, so it made me want some more:wah: I might even keep soem to take for my mam and dad tomorrow night if they are lucky;)

My dad has'nt been well of late, some of you will know he suffered a few strokes, and also has trouble with his knees after having ops to replace both of them, Well he seemed loads better these past couple of weeks, then just as suddenly has deteriated:-1 he has had two falls in the last few days, both times my mam had to call my brother to go round and help him up. yesterday teatime, he wanted to go to bed but couldnt get out of the chair, my mam couldnt get him out and my brother was working, so gordon went over and helped. consequently i checked my phone the whole night when we were out. Anyway my mam got the doc out yesterday, he has given him some different medication, and is referring him to their top specialist, so maybe this time they will actually do somehting about it.:-3

Hi Kaz, glad you had a good evening, and can remember it :wah::wah:

Also pleased for you that your dad will be seeing a specialist at last, and that something may be done to help him.

Strange you did not feel the earthquake, but I suppose it was loosing it's potency by the time it got to you !

We've been remembering what happened here last night, and now that we can have a laugh about it, I must say it was rather comical - this huge roar, the house literally swaying north to south, and us three sitting in bouncing chairs, Oh and the dog also bouncing up and down, pictures on the walls rattling like mad, the standard lamp swaying about, but oddly, nothing fell over ! This morning, we've been going round straightening the pictures, cos they were all tilted and we hadn't noticed that last night. :wah::wah: Last night, though, we did check for any damaged piping (gas as well as water) but thankfully we couldn't find any. That's how violent it was - for us to worry about fractured pipes !

About to marry a woman in her 20's, Mr. Cragin, aged 85, went to a marriage counsellor and asked how he might keep his prospective bride happy. Shaking his head, the counsellor could only say: "I think you should take in a youthful border."

Several months later, the old gent returned to the counsellor and reported that his new bride was pregnant.

"I see you took my advice about the border," said the counsellor, chuckling.

"Yep," said the octogenarian, "and she's pregnant, too."

A man was walking down the street when he noticed his grandpa sitting on the porch, in the rocking chair, with nothing on from the waist down.

"Grandpa, what are you doing?" he exclaimed.

The old man looked off in the distance and did not answer him.

"Grandpa, what are you doing sitting out here with nothing on below the waist?" he asked again.

The old man slyly looked at him and said, "Well, last week I sat out here with no shirt on, and I got a stiff neck. This was your Grandma's idea!":wah:

A special song to every single one of you. You guys have helped me through so much and I just want you to know that each one of you mean so much to me.Gill thanks for this thread and for letting us meet such lovely friends as we have.;)

When you're down and troubled

and you need a helping hand

and nothing, whoa nothing is going right.

Close your eyes and think of me

and soon I will be there

to brighten up even your darkest nights.

You just call out my name,

and you know whereever I am

I'll come running,

oh yeah baby to see you again.

Winter, spring, summer, or fall,

all you have to do is call

and I'll be there, yeah, yeah, yeah.

You've got a friend.

If the sky above you

should turn dark and full of clouds

and that old north wind

should begin to blow

Keep your head together

and call my name out loud

and soon I will be knocking upon your door.

You just call out my name

and you know where ever I am

I'll come running to see you again.

Winter, spring, summer or fall

all you got to do is call

and I'll be there, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Hey, ain't it good to know

that you've got a friend?

People can be so cold.

They'll hurt you and desert you.

Well they'll take your soul if you let them.

Oh yeah, but don't you let them.

You just call out my name

and you know wherever I am

I'll come running to see you again.

Oh babe, don't you know that,

Winter spring summer or fall,

Hey now, all you've got to do is call.

Lord, I'll be there, yes I will.

You've got a friend.

You've got a friend.

Ain't it good to know you've got a friend.

Ain't it good to know you've got a friend.

You've got a friend. ......love you guys;)xxxx
