The drama's of being 18... AGGGGG

Post by Omni_Skittles »

It's already started and i still have like 7 or 8 days left til i am actually 18! I don't like being associated with this age! It sucks. Because every decision i make from now on will be "Because of my Age". Which is REALLY stupid... I want to make decisions and right or wrong i want it to be because of ME!!! not my age. How much does age actually have to do with anything? So I'm not allowed to make any drastic decisions until i'm 19... OMG!!! one stinking nine! they're all just numbers to me! I had a saying once and i think it's funny... You're old until you're teeth are smiling up at you. what does that have to do with anything? nothin. just thought i'd say it again... anyway back on track... 18 yea... 18 so what if i can buy cig or be able to vote... TECHNICALLY if it were not for soldiers fighting i wouldn't even be able to vote this young... or old i don't know. I mean i know i have to start making decisions i am fine with that... i just wish, when i make a stupid decision that it won't be blamed on my STUPID AGE!!!! see now i am ranting like a 15 year old! haha like that?

Oh, you'll make decisions

you'll need to go thru the good - bad - and ugly on your own.

I wish I was confident that you'd listen to others (older) as you age .

Best advise I have for you to make the best decision - is to ask and have different imput - weight out the good - bad & ugly.

Look into the outcome of your decision.

We all go thru this - and decisions are whats best for you.

Good Luck

I feel your pain Skittles I was the same when I turned 18. My dad kept mentioning how old I had become like it was such a massive turning step in my life, when to me it just felt like another day, and another number added to the past 17!

Personally having turned 18 I just carried on with life as I had done the day before (ok with the exception of the birthday celebrations that's a different matter haha,) and whenever I was faced with a new decision such a voting, I simply took a deep breath thought about what I thought was the best thing to do, and did it.

I wouldn't try and worry too much about after turning 18, just enjoy each day as it comes, and take it from there. I found that in certain cases thinking about the distant future only made things in the present worse, so just relax and do what you feel is the best thing for you!

Well making a bad decision obviously isn't great, but for me it's how you react from that (ok I know it depends on the situation,) but a sign of growing up is admitting you were wrong, learning from it and making yourself a better person as a result. I mean we all mistakes after all regardless of how old we are!

Actually, when I was 18 and made mistakes, people didn't blame it on me being 18. They blamed it on me being stubborn and bull-headed!!

Make your mistakes, skittles. That's part of the big plan.

Oh, and if you don't want to "act" 18, then don't. But, enjoy your youth. It's a gift.
It is better to have your mind opened by wonder
