I love Star Trek: TOS, perhaps the most rough-and-tumble of the bunch. I got the sense that Enterprise tried to emulate that.
I also learned to love Star Trek: The Next Generation, the two-part episodes of which ("Time's Arrow", "The Best of Both Worlds", "Unification", "Chain of Command", "Descent", "All Good Things") stand as some of the finest stories produced for television.
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine provided the darker textures I always thought the new-and-improved Trek universe needed. "The Way of the Warrior", the two-parter that brought Worf into the fold, is one of my favorites.
I was excited about Star Trek: Voyager. It took only two seasons for me to begin fervently wishing that they'd just find a worm-hole and be done with the damned thing. By the middle of the third season I wasn't even that picky as to where the worm-hole went, really.
I wanted so much for Enterprise to be a success. That hope began to fray before the opening credits were finished on the first episode. That song! That song! And then after that it was simply a good cast (save for Bacula, who just never rose above a one-note performance) slogging through yet another grumpy universe full of grumpy humanoid races with weird foreheads. Even the Vulcans look annoyed most of the time. Bah! One exception: the two-part episode "In a Mirror, Darkly", set in the mirror universe where history has been twisted via moral inversion. I found myself asking aloud as my wife and I watched, "Why can't they just make the series about these guys? It's like Star Trek ala The Sopranos!" Oh, how I wish they had heard me.
Abrams, you better not f**k this up.

The X-1 may do a fly-by, but I get the impression that this movie begins with the construction of the NCC-1701.

I know Picard always said "Make it so" and called Riker Number 1.
I have no problems with number one but number 2 is the one that seems to battle it way out more often, so I use " make it so number 2".:wah:

Live long and prosper guys. Im a true trekkie, I will watch repeats, I don't care lol.
My favourite is Deep Space Nine. My daughters think i'm nuts, they say "Mother! how can you watch all the daft characters, but you have to get past that and get into the personality of the characters. Hubby is a big fan too lol.
Which one of you made the comment about Janeway being the only one in space to get lost cos she is a woman, you naughty person lol. I defend her to the hilt!!
She is brilliant so there !!

My sister is a Trekkie fan, but the only thing I can think of is that song "Star Trekkin across the USA" bizarre, but funny.:wah:

i'm such a trekkie it's not even funny, i grew up watching reruns of the original! when i was a little girl i had such a crush on Kirk but as i got older i became more into spock he is so cool!
but of all the other shows i have to say i like TNG the best, i love all the characters on there they were written so well and you really cared what happened to them. i really like Picard and i wanted Troy's hair style so badly i thought her hair was just beautiful! but my favorite character on there was Data!
