Dr Faustus

Just wondering if anyone could point out some useful sections in the play for writing an essay on this title:

'The play is a mixture of the philosophical, the tragic and the comic which is difficult for a modern audience to take seriously.' Do you agree?

Any help with this would be much much much appreciated!

Thanks :)

Whose play? Goethe's? Marlowe's?
