Post by grh »

Maybe just an open marriage to start... see how it's gonna work over the long run before I commit all out...

I think I am old enough now to be comfortable telling someone else what to do, rather then just doing it myself...

I know I'm old enough to start thinking about outliving a potential spouse and living off the social security and pension they bring to the union..

He'll need to be mature but 'up to things' on a regular basis, pretty much..

Now all I need to do is find the right guy. :-2
Who are they to protest me? Who are they? Unless they've been me and been there and know what the hell they're yelling about!

Well, Spot... I don't know either of those fellas(i assume they are fellas). That's not an automatic disqualification you understand. God knows the guys I do know are either wise to me or I'm wise to them, so fresh blood might not be a bad idea.

You probably think I'm just being facetious here, dear. If I were 100% sure of the correction definition, I might even be tempted to agree with you. But let me just point out to you that three weeks ago I decided to quit smoking...voila! Two weeks ago I decided to become a health nut... 3 lbs.. tada!

I have spent the last two days redoing my daughters room. Half way through the process I reached the conclusion that men may be good for more then one thing. And since I no longer had my cigarette breaks to distract me from my thought processes, cha-ching!

I'd say pretty good.

My mate is 56, overweight, sarcastic and has a 27 year old son.

That's what love has to do with it.

Although when I met my husband I wasn't quite so overweight or so sarcastic - both seem to have increased over the years, still he made a huge mistake when he let me do his bookkeeping - I know how much he's got and where it is - think he's stuck with me now!!:wah:

So, it snowed here today...

I got off work at noon 'cause i was picking the daughter up from a slumber party and by time we got home there was about 2.5 inches accumulated, right?I did one of those slides into the driveway, go inside and we decide it is a great day to take a nap.

She wakes me up a little over an hour later to inform me that there is a neighbor guy out there shoveling our driveway. I ask what neighbor guy, 'cause that's never happened before (last snowfall i was out at 1:30 in the morning shoveling to be sure i would make it out in the morning). She comes back and tells me that he's done and getting into his car. I ask why is a neighbor guy getting into his car and she tells me he's driving away. I asked what the car looked like so I could thank the neighbor next time I saw him and she told me it was a truck like dads only red....

I know this guy, he's a friend... last time, when I told him I had been out shoveling in the middle of the night, he gave me crap for not calling him... yeah okay. So, he shows up here today, weeks later when it snows and shovels my driveway before I even think about it. And drives off without even telling me he's done it for me. Just a phantom shoveler...:wah:

Aside from the fact that he gets major points for thinking of me just because it snowed.... ain't that just the sweetest thing???:-4

It didn't cost him anything but time, yet I can't remember a nicer gift from any guy I've ever known.

Hi grh,

I think you will find a suitable mate for yourself. Yes that was a sweet thing the phantom snow shoveler did. Maybe he was doing a sweet thing for you because he felt it was his duty and maybe he did it because he sort of likes you. Maybe you can do something pleasing for him that might get the ball rolling. Just my 2 cents simply because I believe in love.

Don't listen to any negative people. Don't ask advice from stuck and forlorn folks, or think twice about your worth. You are definitely worth it. If you want a relationship you will have one :-6

The interesting thing about getting advice from all sides is that you learn pretty quickly which advice is worth heeding. There are also folks who are pretty much always negative that I will listen to, mainly to confirm that I am right in heading the opposite direction..:D
