Thanks Wolverine, I'm glad you like - It was a way I could honor the losses you and your families endured.

I've been busy with work & projects, my friend. But I will be around more now as things ease up. It's been a while, glad to be here again!!

I was blessed to be born in America, and will gladly give my life so my daughter can experience a life free of threat from terrorists. I thank God for being here..... don't thank me. I feel you misunderstood me. Maybe I wrote it wrong. If you disagree in the war, and you go fight, that's one thing. My only concern with that is when you die your family complains about what you were doing over there, that you didn't want this, and now you left your family behind. I NEVER want anyone to say anything like that. I volunteered in the Army. I received ORDERS to go fight the fight, and will do so proudly. If I die, I want everyone to understand that I did what I could and in the end gave the ultimate sacrifice ..... for my daughter to be safe, and for America. That might be too patriotic for some, but I truly believe it.I can be a touch abrasive when the subject of this Administration and the Invasion/Occupation subjects surface. I see the invasion as a war crime. I know you and many others see it as a heroic effort to save America. We'll never agree but I will apologize for many of my crude remarks on the subject. I do not hate the troops. I hate the President that would send them into what I see as a manufactured crisis. I do respect other's views, even if it may not appear so, and I know my view gets little respect from some close minded neo-cons.

Gladly give your life so your daughter can live a life free of Terrorists??? Yeah right!!! There will always be terrorists. This "war" will never end if thats our ultimate goal. You might get rid of a few over there when you go, but there are always thousands of people who will take their place. The threat is always there and something will happen again soon. I hope not, but the reality of the situation is, that it will.
I try to please one person a day. Today is not your day, and tomorrow looks bad too.

RSF, ever read Hannah Arendt? She speaks to exactly this train of thought, most notably in Eichmann in Jerusalem; A Report on the Banality of Evil.

All it takes for evil to exist is for good men to do nothing, and all that.
We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.

No, you are not E-ville. I would like to appologize to you David. I did not mean to lash out like that. True we don't see eye2eye on a number of things. But that doesn't excuse my behavior.

Hope you can find it in your Kommie heart to forgive an over-reactive patriot. :)

BlndSmtOpinionated wrote: David, I cannot begin to understand where you are coming from. Pardon the sloppy quote, however my posts are no where near yours and I am still trying to get this FG all figured out. The main thing that I wish to point out to you is actually in regards to one of your prior comments in regards to the US Forces "occupying" any city in AF or IQ.

First of all, I feel occupation can be left to the Russians. It is not the US Government's intent to "occupy" any city. However, we HAVE undoubtedly set up awesome military bases in Kandahar, Baghdad (I believe that one is called Camp Victory), Mosul, need I go on?

What I am trying to point out to you David, is you are obivously as brainwashed as me. Fortunately, logic is on my side. Have an awesome day in America. God Bless. :guitarist by the way.... if you want some patriotic music... try Toby Keith's American Soldier, or Taliban song... and for your reading delight try Islam and Terrorisim by Mark A. Gabriel... I'm here to educate not attack.I know we are on opposite ends of the spectrum on this subject. I firmly disagree that Hussein was worth even one soldiers life, now we are in a very flammable situation that can only worsen in my view. This is where my anger sets in and I get GardenRage!! My aim is not to bash the kids there, just their mission. I guess I'll do all I can to get people to realize Iraq & Afghanistan are NOT worth the price we have already paid, let alone the future price we will pay. It infuriates me to the marrow. I should have aimed at that, not you and some other innocent bystanders. I wish you nothing but the very best.

I'm really not nearly as aggressive as I have been on this subject to you and a few others and I'm relieved I'm not on the Wolverine Hate List!! I am so oppossed to the Iraq occupation and it's cost in lives and money that alot of times I just explode! I was wrong to be so hateful and I'm glad we can maybe take the deep breath and start over.

What's almost as strange as this part of this thread is that I'm reading it while "The Surreal Life" is doing their wrap-up lovefest on TV.
