Funny, I don't feel different

Post by watermark »

even though my divorce became final a few days ago. Probably has to do with being separated living in different houses for four years. Maybe it hasn't sunk in yet.

Just wanted to make the announcement. I'm not looking for replies, though in the future I may ask for some advice regarding retirement, financial stuff.

A toast to bright futures and no regrets all 'round!! :-6

I didn't know that my divorce was final until 6 months after it was! I had a horrible Lawyer....I still don't have the decree, because he never got it to me and was going to charge me extra...and he did VERY little as it was!

But enough about me...congratulations Watermark! I hope all is well with you!:-6

I'll raise my glass - put some tunes on - LETS ALL DANCE ..

Wonderwendy - you can optain a copy of the divorce decree through the County in which the divorce took place - minimun charge.

Thats OK - its just something for the Fireplace - like the good ole days when the fortunate would burn the Deed to their home..

Hell I had a Tampon party when I had a hysterectomy - great fire starters..

No wonder I like Jane Fonda

OK Back to the regular scheduled thread

Lets Dance

Thanks all for the support. I'm not quite sure what to do with myself. Suppose the sky is the limit, as they say. First I have to raise my kids up and out. At this minute my youngest is entertaining his friends for an early birthday celebration, because he turns 12 tomorrow. (just an aside-- he seems to always be celebrating just a liittttle too much now that he doesn't live with his dad :-5--his entire childhood, he can look back on and say, yeah, I played video games and skateboarded, man weren't those the good ol' days )

Anyway, I'm sure I'll have to go to the divorce forum to get the lowdown on post divorce logistics. You know I'm not even sure what my next legal step is. If I ask my lawyer she'll want to charge me, even though (imho) she's not worth $195.00 an hour. Oh well. She has been rather flexible and available throughout the whole thing and for that I'm appreciative.

Thanks again,

Erin

I opened my eyes on my 40th birthday..... finally divorced.. from a monster, whom I loved... and I was ecstatic!!!! Shortly after that day, I went into a tail spin, and wanted him back. the reality of major traumas in our lives, doesnt sink in for a while. It is the brains way of protecting us. Like slowly slipping into cold water. I hope YOUR feeling ecstatic. Youve done a very brave thing. Not everyone has the courage to change something in their lives. Fifteen years later, ( now ) I thank God that I faced life on my own, and I cant even conger up an image of the monster/lovers face. Best wishes to you for a happy future, and good things to come.

Thank you, Weeder. I wouldn't say I feel ecstatic. Not sure what I'm feeling. Kinda just blah. I can say I'm not the least bit interested in getting back with him. Nor was I four years ago when I moved out. Things will be an adventure for me, I'm sure of that. I'm not one to let life go slipping through my fingers, 'cept the last four years of course.

Take care,

Erin
