Undies and eggs sorcerer jailed

A CYPRIOT woman was jailed for 20 days today after being found guilty of practicing sorcery using a pair of underpants and raw eggs to break a "lethal curse".

The court said the 69-year-old woman tried to convince her male victim that a death wish had been placed upon him and that payment of 5,000 Cypriot pounds ($A14,570) would help her break the deadly spell.

Apart from a cash down payment, the man was requested to bring a spoon, one egg, a plate, a urine sample and a pair of underpants.

"Once 500 pounds exchanged hands, some kind of ceremony took place using the specific objects mentioned," the court ruling said.

"According to the plaintiff, at the end of it, hairs wrapped around a nail were found inside an egg to prove a spell had been cast against him."

The woman then demanded 5,000 pounds, saying the man would die in his sleep within 22 days if the spell, supposedly cast on him by his mother-in-law and estranged wife, were not lifted.

"It was then the plaintiff was rudely awakened and realised he was being made a fool of and filed a complaint to police," the ruling said.

Yep, people are very gulliable about things like this. And not just in cypress either. If you ever have a look with how much money online psychics or phone-in tarot lines make yearly you will see that this woman's main problem was that she was thinking too small. If this guy was stupid enough to hand over so much cash for this then he is the one that should be fined for just being thick.
