I was impressed when I first saw this site a while ago. It has since been denounced as a fabrication. And of course, there are others who are defending it as real. I can't find the original news sources that interviewed her where she admitted that she took the trip by car - with others - and "the story" was more important than her actually riding a motorcycle by herself.
The photos are still creepy though.

Wondered what you were talking about at first.
Hoax or not the kids from the area that have come over to scotland to get treatment really do have cancer and are dying, many russians died containng the explosion and still went in knowing the consequences to themselves,

You started a thread with this article before! The term "senior moment" was
being applied to certain members of a mixed-age Sunday lunchtime drinking
group I used to very much enjoy attending some years ago. After a few hours,
anyone could have a "senior moment" regardless of age.

It's a very touching story whether it was done on motorbike, car, or camel. I
have of course heard of children coming over for treatment/treats. It is true, is
it not, that Scotland, the North of England, and parts of Wales suffered from
fallout from the disaster. IIRC air conditioning filters in some places were
classified as low-level radioactive waste, and had to be specially disposed
of, and there were livestock/marketing problems. What some of the people
working at the plant did was heroic.

It is true although the gale force winds at the time ameliorated the effects, there were traces found on the wool of sheep in the lake district. I was wandering round the cairngorms at the time, relatives kept asking me if i was glowing yet, since I was camping without the benefit of tv or radio i hadn't a clue what they meant until they explained. woorrying but not an awful lot of point being worried as there would be bugger all you could do anyway.
My wife is from the lake didtrict born the year sellafield had a major leak, no glowing as yet. The locals were told no risk to health but don't drink the milk or the water.

Lovely, gives that really "safe" feeling. Was your wife born in 1957, 1976, or
in 1983, I wonder? A rhetorical question. There were major leaks in all these
years. The whole thing became such an embarrassment that the name of the
plant was changed to "Sellafield" from "Windscale".

Don't eat the fish and of course leukemia clusters round the Irish coast are totally random.
