And thankyou to all my friends here who sent good wishes. Romy called this morning to say she'd been offered the French television job!!!! WOW !!!!! She needs to rush immediately back to Paris to launch a new channel or something, then they'll let her return to London to pack her collection of teddy bears, clean out her old desk, speak as much English as she can cram in, say farewell to Camden Town and the canal etc etc.. before installing herself in her new - well old actually - apartment on the hill in the Eighteenth.

Congrats! Is Romy your daughter? I wasn't aware that she was trying for a job of her dreams. Must be exciting for you both! Give her best wishes from me, a stranger I know, but I hope the best for her.
