What Religion Are You?

Post by Bryn Mawr »

Whilst looking for info on 2x2 after reading Moonpie's thread I came across :-

http://www.beliefnet.com/story/76/story_7665_1.html

Twenty questions used to determine which faith most closely matches your beliefs.

I won't post my results here as I cannot see a way to convert them to straight text and I don't trust some of the embedded links but the top three were :-

1) Reform Judaism (100%)

2) Liberal Quaker (96%)

3) Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestant (87%)

I really do not know what to make of it - might be silly, certainly not life changing but interesting (if biased) questions and makes you think.

See what you make of it.

Strange the combinations it's coming up with.

And how can neo paganism and Orthadox Judaism both score 100% on one set of answers?

I never heard of most of these religions. To be honest,I dont understand why there are so many.If folk believe there is a God,then does it matter what you call him.To my mind different religions cause conflict. My religion is never harm anyone, not because I will burn in hell if I do,it is called conscience.

Good God... Jess, you're such an extremist!

I'm aligned most closely to Secular Humanism, Liberal Quakers, Unitarian Universalism and Neo-Paganism and strongly misaligned with the Mormons, Islam, Orthodox Judaism, Eastern Orthodoxy, Roman Catholicism and the Jehovah's Witnesses. I demand a recount.

I was 100% neo pagan, furthest from Mormon.

They didn't have my actual religion, Hermeticism, as an option.

You seem to be mostly not nontheist but I was virulently non-orthodox, for example (excuse the multiple negatives, it comes with the territory). Some questions are evidently designed as "what are you for" and others "what are you against". A strange quiz all round, that one.

How right you are, I'm definately not nonteist:wah: however, I'm not orthodox either. How can orthodoxy be immediately followed by liberal?

Your orthodox Quaker is a free-living hedonist compared to your Wee Free! These terms are spread across a very wide spectrum.

Lon, you match mine practically to the jot and tittle.
