About 50 tents have been set up at the NIA
Spending a fortnight camping in a Birmingham car park is not many people's idea of a good holiday.
But for a select band of die-hard Sir Cliff Richard fans, their yearly date with the hard concrete floor of Birmingham's National Indoor Arena (NIA) is one that simply cannot be missed.
They are waiting patiently in line until 6 June for the chance to buy the best seats to watch the veteran singer compete in his own annual celebrity tennis tournament.
About 50 tents have been set up by around 75 of Cliff's loyal group of followers, some of whom, like Pat Denton, from Southend-on-Sea, have been coming to the NIA to queue for tickets for several years.
Despite never making it really big in America like the Beatles, Cliff has still had more hits and more #1 hits in his home country than any other single artiste, and his concerts are still massive sell-outs, as this proves! :guitarist :guitarist :guitarist

Abbey, sorry, didn`t realise it would come out like that till it printed (you could maybe copy and paste it, then change my stupid font?!) And Capt, well, that`s just the point I was making, whether people deny it or not, he is still Britain`s most successful and most popular recording artiste!

No Hasslehoff is big in France and Germany.
Sir Cliff gained legendary status with his starring role in the landmark british film "Summer Holiday" starring alongside Hank Marvin and Una Stubbs. The film was a scathing attack on the british class system, Cliff and his friends decided to take the struggle to Europe by rebuilding a double decker London bus and hotfooting it across the channel, several close calls then ensued......or... it was a right load of crap made so Cliff could sing.
the man is a menace, pops up every Christmas with some syrupy record, bleats on about his faith and has successfully avoided being "outed" for years.
