its my barrie's 2nd aniversary tomorrow and things are getting on top of me a bit. a mate of his came into the shop yesterday, when i asked him if they were going to continue barrie's memorial darts match this year, he just nodded, niether of us could speak to each other !!
now i'll tell you something strange that happened last night.......
i was sitting watching telly, fairly late, when wallace shot off the bed and stood staring at the ceiling, above the door, frantically wagging his tail. he kept this up for about 2/3 minits. its not the first time he's done it and my boss's daughter has seen him do it too.
I had a dog that used to do that Helen, it was always the same spot too, spooky
Take care:-4

afternoon all,#
got to work tonite but got tomorrow off, so im going to the hair dressers to see about getting my hair all cut off ( if shes brave enough to tackle it ) it will cost me less than half of what i paid last time so it prooves that some of these ruddy salons charge far more than they need to
all i do is wear it scraped back in a pony tail.
can anyone tell me where all that grey has come from :-3

Hehehe fair enough! :p
You are right though, sure is pretty cold today. First time the sun has been out for a long while, but it's still mighty chilly. You really can tell we are heading into Winter, I mean it now gets dark at night by just after 6pm, which always confuses me as it feels like it is later in the day than that!

Hehehe quite true!
Another sure sign of times changing is just by looking into the windows of so many high street shops. All you can see are Christmas and Halloween related things, and heck I think I even heard a rumour that they were getting ready to set up our cities Xmas decorations soon!!
Now I love Christmas, but even that is a little on the silly side!

Rainy Day Riddle
How many raindrops up in the sky
Does it take to say that it's raining?
Can it be just one? Or must there be more,
And by knowing, just what are we gaining?
The answer to this you will soon know,
And I hope that it gets you to thinking,
Cuz thinking will help your brain to grow,
And if it's not growing, it's shrinking.
If the droplets are far too many to count,
You can say that it's raining a lot,
But if you count one drop all alone,
Then it's raining in just that one spot!
Now picture a downpour so severe,
That there are countless drops to be seen
Did you know it's really not raining at all,
In all the dry spaces in between?
So here is a rainy day trick for you
To help you find all the dry places,
Look up at all the drops as they fall
And try walking in just those spaces!
Now if you were to say that this was "clever" or "cute"
Yet you feel it has no real meaning for you,
Then I'd say it's a way of looking at things
That can help you the whole day through.
For when your days are drizzling the doldrums
And seem dark and dreary from showers of strife,
When you just can't find your way out of the storm
You gotta dance between the raindrops through life
How many raindrops up in the sky
Does it take to say that it's raining?
Can it be just one? Or must there be more,
And by knowing, just what are we gaining?

Oh deep joy ! My husband and son went out this evening to play some snooker. We are all trying to come to terms with the fact that my husband's sister is dying of cancer, a tumour on her spine. A little bit of light relief to take their minds off things for a couple of hours.
Just before 8 pm a gang of about 8 youths decided to roll my biker son's Reliant Rialto (three wheeler car). It smashed down onto the road, breaking the driver's side window, smashing off the wing mirror, ramming the door handle into the door and scratching all the side of the car. It's a possiblility that the engine mountings could be damaged, and other things like the battery etc.
All I can say is that perhaps it is a good job my son was out at the time. That little car is a 'fun' car, and his pride and joy.
I called the police straight away, they came quite quickly. I had also called my husband, and they returned from snooker. SOCO will be coming tomorrow, to fingerprint the car.
To say I'm pissed off just doesn't describe how I feel. My son fortunately has taken it better than I had hoped. My husband is furious.
Of all of us I think I have taken it the worst. Probably because it was an attack on my son's pride and joy, therefore very personal to me, and because I actually witnessed it.
Those ferral youths all ran off as soon as they had done the deed - odd that they righted the vehicle again ! I saw this all happening on the CCTV monitor and it was done and dusted in moments. Now I had strict orders to never go out after dark, if I'm in the house by myself, even with our alsatian dog, should anything happen out there, so I didn't, well not straight away - at least 60 seconds !
I tell you, it's a good job for them that they legged it, because our dog is fast and he breaks bones with his teeth, and I would have had no conscience about letting him off the lead at them.
We just didn't need this incident at this time.
By the way, we live in a well respected residential area. It just says something about the degradation of the young - who are allowed to run wild everywhere.

hello to everyone else here too, not going to mention names cos im sure to leave someone out:o
hope you've all had a good day, its been bright here but pretty chilly.
i think i might have mentioned that my friends who were here last week lost their old dog. well, the day before yesterday they went out and got an 8wk old collie puppy. the poor little soul collapsed and died this afternoon, they are waiting for a report from the vet to find out what happened,

Ahhhhhh GIll:-4
The dirty little skites and buggers. They are gurriers for sure (sorry about spelling...I know these are Irish words but don't know how to spell them:wah:)
I'm so sorry that this has happened to you and family. I am also so sorry about your sis-in-law. Life deals us so many blows that I'm surprised that we all survive.
I'm keepin my eye on you girl. You better not go out running after them if something else happens. Call Wonder Wendy and she'll do the dirty deed.
You take care Luv and I know your dog will be alert for danger.

Gill - I've just read your post.... I am so sorry that this has happened to your family. What mean little buggers they are. I hope that whoever did that to your son's car has rotten luck for the rest of their days!

Jimbo, Kinks, Suzy, Carol, Helen, Kathy Ellen, Joan, PC (Rosie), for all your kind words to me.
Joan, for goodness sake, we all are thinking of you. We love your poems, your jokes, your chats, and we know how thoughtful you are to others' problems even though you have big problems yourself. Please don't think that people are discounting you, because this couldn't be further from the truth. We all look forward to your posts, as and when you can manage them. Oh and by the way I haven't spotted grandma yet !!!
Now I must get back to waiting for Scenes of Crime to turn up. :-5
:-4 To all of you
I'm a Saga-lout, growing old disgracefully
