The Walk
After three years, my husband walked for the first time with his walker to a doctor visit. I was very happy, and he was surprised and delighted at what he had missed for three years. A walk outside, in the fall air, with the beauty of the changing leaves all around us. He worked very hard to do this, and it was worth all those exercises! No wheelchair!:)

That is so incredibly awesome, chonsigirl. How proud you must be at your hubby's hard work and success! I work at a rehab, I know how hard people really have to work to even stand again. I am so happy for you and I hope the successes keep coming!! :-6

I was happy, to see him walk, and proud of himself for what he had done. If he can walk again, he will be able to do more one day. It was miraculous.

Yes.
He could not move, or speak, or anything when he was first ill. He could not speak a word for weeks.
He can walk now.
He can talk and say words and phrases, small sentences. The words are not always right, but I know what he is saying. You see, we are still in sync together. :-4
