What sort of person would do this!!! If they ever find out who did it, I would seriously question the safety of anything or anyone in this persons care!!
i agree that whomever did this needs to be prosicuted by the law..but you cant compare the sanctity of a animals life to that of a human...well you can..but i disagree with the thought process there..i would kill a snake that threatened my child..i would give up an animal for the saftety of my children..i would not put the welfare of a dog or a cat above that of my children or any other...
Everyone knows how I feel about this so there's no need to reiterate much except to say I think it's erroneous at best to fail to see that an animal's life is just as precious. That's one thing about the human race that is egregiously disgraceful. Speciesism. There's no difference between putting a human baby in a dumpster and putting a fur baby in a trash can. No difference at all.

I agree and that was my point in my comments. If someone is capable of doing this to a helpless animal, then really I can only see that they are also capable of doing this to any living thing, including a helpless child. And yes Red, they are not fit to be allowed to live within our society endangering anything or anyone that gets in there way.
I took my sister to Manchester dogs home today to give a dog a home.
I had to leave as i was heartbroken seeing so many puppers, young & old in cages begging for a home.
People are so very, very cruel, if you are looking for a new family member please please consider these poor babes. :-1
BTW She chose a lovely girl caled Kizzy.
I picked this off the website..
Hello everyone, my name is Bracka (Hebrew for blessing) and I’m a gorgeous 6 year old male Staffie. My tag number here is 7 but I have not had much luck in my short life. I was born with a bone deficiency in my legs and which has made them slightly bent, and although they don’t cause me any trouble I can be a bit wobbly sometimes. Despite all I have been through, I am extremely happy and friendly and will always greet you with a warm smile and a waggy tail. I LOVE cuddles and will happily try and sit on your knee to make the most of them. I detest being in this kennel and get more depressed each day I am in here. I long to be with a family who will love me and treasure me forever. I love small comforts in life, mostly couches, the sofa, the settee, cushions and especially the back seat of a car! They make me feel extra cosy and support my legs properly. It’s really upsetting me being here, as I see all the other dogs going out and being adopted whilst everyone seems to walk past me. If you have room in your house and heart for a big Staffie, and have a vacant couch in your sitting room, please consider giving me your blessing and take me home with you today. All my love and sloppy kisses, Bracka x

Abbey thats great that you saved a dogs life today, and gave her a new home and family. All they want is for someone to love and care for them :-4
I have worked in dog rescue centres, and some of the things I saw still bring tears to my eyes. If it was not for the fact that I DO know there are many wonderful and caring people out there, I could quite easily have given up on the human race altogether. It is beyond me some of the things that people do, to both helpless
children and animals.
Like Abbey said, anyone out there thinking about getting a new pet, think about the ones in rescue centres near you.
With the exception of one, all my dogs and cats have been rescue cases - and every single one was loving and loyal to the end. It would appear they are far more forgiving of the human race, than some people deserve. :-4:-4

So you write a post called ‘Am I suppose to feel sorry for these people’ where you show no sympathy what-so-ever for a young mother who died in a desert just trying to get to the US so she can try to have get a better life for her kids, but you argue 'speciesism' and that there is no difference between animals and humans. If that is the case how do you rate illegal immigrants, lower than animals?

Help me understand.
I can't help you understand nor do I feel I need to. I've been in many debates on FG about this issue and if you're looking for one, just go back and read my previous posts.
THIS thread is about a dog thrown in a dumpster and about a dog whose life was saved. That's where I'm leaving it.
I am not looking for an argument; I am just as revolted by someone treating a living creature with such disrespect.
I think it is horrible, I just don’t understand how someone can apply it to animals, but have no compassion for a human. I was looking for clarification, but clearly I won’t be getting it.
