on your right is a green button called quote hit it or on your left is a post reply button hit it, then when the screen opens you type away.

I have never made a blog

I have several questions about that

1. how do I start a blog

2. how many blogs are there in the Forum Garden

3. who reads which of them , do you just poke around

in several to get a taste ?

To the right the quote button is a smaller one. This is the multi-quote.

Click that in each of the messages you want to quote - in the order in which you want them quoted - and then click quote in the last message in the chain and all of the messages will be gathered together in one reply with the correct attribution.

Neat :-)

I've never played with blogs myself but, be aware that Admin (Tombstone) is recommending that you hold off until the new platform is installed over the next couple of weeks.

we call em journals here Max, if you look at the top menu here on FG and click on "Forum Garden" that will take you to the start of our threads etc, then click on journal and then click on new thread and you can blog away to your hearts content. Just understand that nobody can reply to you in your "journal" but hey that is not always a bad thing ahahahaha

Better yet here is the link just click on this then click the button new thread and you can start up.

I dunno I think friends read friends journals. You can tell if you get read by the number of "views" listed in the thread.

have fun with it

So let me get this straight

you can not reply directly to a post you see

but first have to click on the quote and

then somehow get back to the person and post you want to

reply to

and only then will you see the feather and the button

to reply.

You can either press 'quote' if you want to quote someone and see the quote in your post - or - you can press 'post reply' under last post box in thread (or at top of page) to add a post without quoting :-6

Max in your original post the window includes the green button to the right you click that and fill in your reply then scroll to the bottom and click on submit reply... this will show the quote of who you are replying to....

if you do not want to use the quote feature you scroll to the bottom of the entire thread and click the green reply button on the right then fill in the screen then click submit reply, this feature allows you to reply without including who you wish to quote.

Clear? as mud?

click on the name that you want to look at and it should bring up there profile you should find information there

and how can I show where I live by by user name

click on -my settings- in the top left hand corner of the screen and you should see an area titled -control panel- you should be able to do all the things here like your avatar and edit your profile,

to put where you live click on -edit profile-

about half way down the screen you should see -additional info-

in the area where it says where you live, type it in here and it will show under you name when you post.

and more things in my profile .

sorry about all these questions.

i hope all of that helps, if you need any further help just ask.

There's a Member Map function but it's down at the moment, I'll try to get it back when the new server move's complete.

http://www.forumgarden.com/forums/showt ... hp?t=12556 might help until then.

I still am getting an email each time

someone has posted in a thread that I have posted in

I have tried to unsubscribe from the link at the bottom

of the email but that does not work

What can I do to stop these many emails ??

It would seem that every time I post in a thread I get

automatically subscribed to that thread

what do I do to keep getting automatically subscribed?

The Default Thread Subscription Mode obviously doesn't apply to threads you're already subscribed to - it's a default. To turn off notification for threads you're already subscribed to, My Settings / List Subscriptions / Notification checkbox / Delete Subscription.

I'm sure that wandering around the options doesn't take a long time. If you're not familiar with the vBulletin forum user interface it's well worth the effort, we're only mentioning a hundredth of the things you can tailor to your own preference.

There's a "Private Messages" hyperlink in the top right hand corner under the Welcome note, clicking it lists all the messages you have. Clicking the message title then gets you the text.

Which browser are you using? What operating system do you have? Maybe there's a compatibility issue that's affecting you.
