Post by Helen »

morning everyone,

just a quick one cos im off down town to do what i should have done yesterday !! but as i was going out, my boss offered to take me shopping, an offer i couldnt refuse as i either have to get a taxi back home or walk up a very steep hill, carrying loads of bags :(

dull and overcast here today but still pretty warm.

betty,

we're still pretty busy, which is surprizing, but i think this weather is bringing down a few last minit visitors, which helps keep the tills ringing:)

Hi Kaz !

Managed to get some more time on here - had to sort out my online banking, couldn't get in there for ages ! Anyway it's sorted now, so that's a relief pmsl.

I see from the library windows that the sun keeps coming in and out - like the proverbial something or other oops !!! Chris bought some marine ply sheets of wood yesterday to repair our 'balcony' on our VVVPBH. I think he intends to creosote the new stuff. Now I quite like the pong of creosote, but not for too long as it can give me a headache ! Yes I know - you gotta have a brain for your head to ache ! That's probably why I don't suffer from too many ! :-3

I'll try to get a piccy of work in progress :wah:

The 'maroon' went up Wed. evening - there were two rockets so that meant the main lifeboat was required - it's only one for the inshore one. Apparently there was a report of fishing gear floating on the sea between Sheringham and Wells, so the Coastguard was a bit concerned that something serious had happened to a fishing boat. Sheringham lifeboat was despatched and was well on it's way so although the Wells lifeboat had launched and was tankin it up down the 'run' from Wells they were 'stood down' and they returned to station. Haven't heard what the outcome was.

The beach has been very busy the last few days, with the weather being much better. Lets hope it continues so that our repairs can be done.

Don't know what size the 'booty' is that Carol goes to, but there's always a very good and well attended booty at Wells - they take over the football pitch ! And there's another one in the 'Ark Royal' pub car park on Sats. and Suns.

I'm just going to check my emails, I may be able to pop back soon.

If there's anybody else on here at the moment - Hi and hope you're OK. And to absent friends, take care and keep smiling ! :-4

oh carol, thanks for the piccies, the church behind the butchers shop ( still the same family run buisness as when i was there by the looks of it ) is where my mum and dad got married.

the hedge beside the last house on the far right is where i hid to have my first ciggie !!! made me sick for days:yh_sick

that tree must be hundreds of years old, thanks chris.

its not changed that much after all. xx

Pleased one or two of you liked the verses, do unto others as you would have them do unto you eh!

A dull day here but at least it is dry, I have been watching the memorial service organised by Prince William and Prince Harry for their beloved Mum Princess Diana, I found it very moving, :-1, did anyone else get chance to watch it ??

Gill I haven't forgotten I owe you a reply to your very interesting e.mail.

Kaz what smashing photos of the two dogs, hope all is well with you and your babies.

Helen so you get forgetful and at your age too?? but I agree things like that must be annoying and it has thrown you out completely.

Hi Neffy how is the world treating you today?

So hoping Carol, and all our other friends are o.k and you all have a good weekend.

This is not a bit like me,I am a get up and go person, I will leave that pose to the OLDER ones :wah:

hi joan,

i didnt get to see the diana memorial but they did a bit on pirate fm, including her brothers speech at the funeral. i'd forgotton how moving that was. i do remember wanting to cheer when he'd finished speaking, he didnt spare the royals feelings did he ?? !!

morning everyone AGAIN !!!!

well i finally got to sleep at about 4-45 this morning, of course the dog wanted to be up and about at 8am, bless him so we've been out for a nice walk and now im going back to bed :D. as i said before, if i oversleep, tough. !!

joan,

i had a mass clear out the other week, getting rid of clothes my mum gave me, like you, keeping it for sentimental reasons, hadnt worn some of it for years and most of it didnt fit me anymore anyway :wah:

complaining about the situation has just got me the reputation of being a moaning old bat and i think they do it on purpose half the time.

hope you all have a good weekend and the sun shines on you :-6

Hi Joan, thanks for the lovely piccies of the 'real' Bambi and Thumper - they're delightful, where did you get them ?

Hello Mrs. Posh - yes I know you're working, and I do hope you have a good day and the weather is kind to you. :-6

Hi YZGI and Jimbo ! Lovely to see you on here, please make yourselves regular - pmsl !!!

Hi Kaz, hope things are OK with you :-4

Hi Neffy, Kay and Ali - keep smiling, and I hope to be able to talk on MSN next week after Tuesday. B***dy H*** I can't wait, I've missed you all so much !

Helen, it's about time you flexed your muscles Mrs. glad you're doing something to make them think. I know it's difficult for you because you know they could react badly, but as I've said before you can't really get it much worse than not being able to sleep, and then they expect you to carry on your job as if nothing happened - as you say 'tough' serves them right, you over-sleep Chuck !!! :D :-4

Hope everybody is OK and you all have a good weekend, with plenty of good weather - it's been lovely and sunny in North Norfolk this week and looks like continuing ! xxx

I'd arrived at college early for my interview and sat in the car listening to Pirate FM and that speach, had to turn the radio off quick when Elton Johns song came on. Ended up walking up through the college car park dabbing at my eyes and crossing my fingers that it didn't look like I'd been crying. :o

I'll always remember the day she died as it was the day I bought my son home from SCBU.

Hi Betty,

I'm afraid I wasn't able to see any of the memorial service, and perhaps it's just as well, else I'd have probably have had a little weep. I can remember the actual funeral - I had a lump in my throat then.

Well it's nice to see some old/new faces on here, I do hope you all keep coming back.

I've got to go now, Helen I replied to your PM, but I don't want to miss saying 'goodbye' to my hubby's sister, hubby and son.

I'll try to pop in on Monday !

Oh I remember that night so well. It was a Saturday nightSunday morning and I layed on the sofa all night watching it unfold. That Sunday morning I was at a booty and it had the strangest atmosphere ever.........people were walking about in a daze. God............10 years, seems like only yesterday as the memories are so fresh in my mind. She was a good woman and I'm sorry but I still feel without going into detail there was more to her death then we will ever learn.God Bless Her Soul...
