Blind gorilla given cataract op.

A blind gorilla was given a cataract operation (presumably they couldn`t get it to wear contact lenses nor find a pair of glasses big enough) in Bristol Zoo.

It has now given birth to a lovely little baby gorilla and is apparently much more sociable now it can see okay.

Excuse me for putting a dampener on this, but does anybody else think giving a gorilla a cataract op. is just a stupid waste of money?!

No i thinks it`s wonderful - i personnally would rather see this than millions given away to scrounging bogus asylum seekers .

Surely animals deserve the right to see, if my dog had cataracts i'd beg, steal or borrow if it gave her the chance of a better way of life.

I think its a good thing. Rather than spending millions and millions of the lottery money on stupid crap monuments they should start investing it in charities, including animal charities. Why should an animal go blind unnecessarily blind? I would give all I've got if my pet needed surgery
