The Blame society

Post by Bothwell »

This story is all over our tabloids so you should be able to google a link, I was too angry to bother.

A 36 year old woman whose 12,14 and 16 year old daughters who have all had children has blamed the government for the lack of sex education :-5

At first she blamed the school that her daughters attended, however she willingly allowed her 11 year old daughter's boyfriend to spend the night in the girls room, "i used to get a bit suspicious when he came down for breakfast in his underwear"

The family brings in £31,000 per year ($60,000) in state benefits.

It does get better, the 14 year old insists that she knows the father (there's a plus) of her child and it is a local white boy, if you do google it look at the child, a more obviuos mixed race child would be hard to find. In other words she has no idea who the father is and cannot even remember if he was black or white.

The mother who is a "Cook" (untrained) insists she would love to work but has to look after the children, she says they are not scroungers. Hogarth would have been reaching for his engraving tools as we speak, it is almost Dickensian in it's definition of a new class, the "let the state pay, blame someone else" class.

So in the spirit of education I will help the little lambs with the following :

1) If you have sex with a male, and do not utilise contraception you may get pregnant.

2) He will not love you more (despite what he says) if you have sex with him.

3) 16 is the legal age of consent in the UK

4) A child is yours forever (or until in your case Social services take it away)

5) Your mother is NOT a good role model

6) Until the age of 16 you should be in school

7) Try and remember who the father could be (at least narrow it down to race, it's a start), he may have to pay maintenance

and most importnantly DO NOT blame everyone else for the s**t heap of a life you have created all by yourselves.

end of rant

I feel sorry for these children. I mean the children that have had their own children :-3 . What chance did they have to make something of themselves when they were born to this woman. And their children ? what hope have they?

Its sad .The one getting the education should have been the mother .

Oh by the way I cant get the link to work , says its not a valid link.

Sorry but I have nothing but contempt for a system that not only allows this sort of thing to happen (EASILY preventable, eg, life imprisonment an automatic sentence for having sex with a minor, no, I don`t mean with a minEr!), BUT also appears to REWARD such behaviour in the form of massive benefit payments, free housing, etc, all paid for by other taxpayers who have their own families to support!

They do want to blame everyone else because they're too stupid to realise its their fault. Its the usual scenario that these people breed like there's no tomorrow but everybody else ends up paying for them.

I feel sorry for the poor babies being brought (no sorry dragged) up in a family like that because once the 12 yr old mother hits the ripe old age of 15 and realises what she's been missing out on, who is going to end up looking after the screaming 3 yr old that'll be clinging to her ankles?

If they are that thick that they don't understand having unprotected sex can lead to pregnancy, they should sterilise them. :-5

So that's where babies come from..

Honestly this kinda of story makes me ill.. personal responsiblity has become passe. We have become a society of "it is never my fault" people. And.. to prove it I am gonna sue you to make sure that it is not my fault..

disgusting...

in my work i have met so many very young females with many babies...that i have to serve with papers to remove said babies. 23 years old, crack whores, 5 kids. i am not kidding. and they scream and carry on when i serve the removal papers, even though we arrested mommy on her knees in the bank parking lot exchanging a bj for a crack rock, and baby is in the car starving and wet and cold. one springs to mind recently, got out of jail two days before she gave birth , smoked enough crack to kill a draft horse, had the baby who was sick unto death from the crack, and bolted the hospital leaving the baby behind. we had her back in jail within hours of giving birth . prostituting for crack. i have interviewed many of these, none of them have a clue who "my baby's daddy" is.

I found this interesting statistic.

The Centre for Policy Studies think-tank said married couples on average weekly salaries were only £1 better off than single mothers who never worked and had no contact with the father of their children.

So how as a society do we stop or halt this cycle of madness?

The children in families like these are sadly, destined to the repeat the chaos all over again.

So how as a society do we stop or halt this cycle of madness? That Jika is the big question.

A friend of mine has spent all his career in Social housing and he has 30 year old grandmothers in his case load, women of 25 with 5 (yes 5 ) kids etc. I have often asked him the same question. i.e. if I were the daughter of one of these women surely the last thing I would do was get pregnant young and condemn myself to the same life of poverty.

He has a couple of answers, firstly it's not a life of poverty, you will get, free housing, free school meals, free school clothes, living allowances, free utilities etc.

Secondly and probably more importantly it's what they know as normal, in other words you have to break the cycle, of course you get pregnant at 15 it's what everyone else does.

Now anyone can make a mistake at that age, but the one daughter in question had 2 miscarriages and an abortion before she was at the age of consent?? She WANTED to have a baby.

So lets assume that these girls are lost, how about their kids, they are at a stage when they can be helped out of this mess. So if we have to throw resources at these people (and IMO we HAVE to help the babies) then make damn sure that every penny that is directed to the care of the babies gets to be used in their upkeep, if you have to have social services there every day then do so. The money goes on them, not booze, fags and designer trainers (sneakers) for the delightful mums. I would also tell "Granny" that she will not be providing daycare, this will be paid for by me as a taxpayer and the kids will get to a decent nursery, somewhere that shows them what society should be like. It would be cost effective in the end.

So IMO concentrate the resources in breaking the cycle, slash benefits to "granny" she can work now the State is paying for professional childcare, reduce the darling daughter's benefits, get them schooled and trained, non attendance results in further loss of benefits, then they can at least have a stab at supporting their families.

Oh and prosecute with the full measure of the law the feckless idle boys that fathered these children with underage girls, I am talking of maximum sentence in a sort of "lets set an example" kind of way. Three crimes have been committed here and te "Evidence" is there for all to see, DNA test do whatever has to be done.

As you can tell I am quite passionate about this and its because of the babies, it's not their fault and they have a chance, so lets give it to them. It can be done, the friend of mine I mentioned above was a Barnado boy and I spent the first two years of my life in an orphanage but both of us got a chance. I happen to know that my darling natural mother was in many ways similar to "Granny" in this case, fortunately I was taken away and got a chance. If I had stayed in that environment God knows what i would have become.

Great post Bothwell!

Without meaning to sound like some kind of monsterous, Machiavellian, social engineer I do think intervention is key.

How would this be achieved? It would take a multi-faceted approach, working with the children and families, involving many professional services and an enormous amount of public funding. I don't think the tax paying public at large care enough or are angry enough to take the challenge on. I wish peoples priorities would change.

You have hit this right on Bothwell... unfortunately as Jika has pointed out it would take a huge amount of public funding to break the gimme gimme cycle. And the public by and large is becoming tired of paying for anothers mistakes.. so as far as creating a new set of publically paid for services to break the cycle I can't see that happening in the near future. In too many instances I see my hard earned tax dollars being thrown into programs that have no future. I am not saying that some people are not in need of using the public programs, but to have them become a way of life... I wish I could anwser how we could fund these programs without creating an additional tax burden on the already over taxed general public...

Maybe instead of giving these people money, why can't they have vouchers where they can ONLY buy nappies, milk, baby food etc? Am I right to assume that if they get so much in benefits they'll probably get free rent, council + poll tax? If so, the money they're getting in benefits will just be squandered on fags and booze.

It makes me laugh because there are family planning clinics that offer FREE contraception, so there's no excuse. As much sex education there are in schools today, parents shouldn't be relying on this to educate their children. They have a responsibility by their child to drum it into them from a young age about the effects of unprotected sex.

As shadow chancellor I have worked it out. I reckon we could seriously afford to send the children to the most expensive private school in the UK, buy their uniforms, clothes, books, food everything and still be better off.

This family costs £31,000 a year and the scrounging will be carried on by the new born generation, break the cycle and they may actually become self supporting as will their children.

there are absolutely people who will always need state help and they will be supported by me as long as I have breath to draw, the fact that a country like the UK still has CHILD poverty (yes that's Child poverty) is a disgrace, a bigger disgrace is the fact that in a lot of cases the money is being wasted by the parents. These kids are not born into an environment of their choice those of us who are more fortunate in our circumstances should do all we can to help.

God knows I pay enough tax but I would pay more if I could be guaranteed that the money was actually being used as it should. Did you know that there are charities in the UK that provide shoes, yes SHOES for children so they can go to school, it's 2005 not 1805.

Jika it's difficult to raise the social engineering question it has so many connotations but I say this. There are many many couples here in the UK that are desperate to have children, by the same token there are many children who spend a life of misery because their parents are Addicts, Alcoholics or just plain useless, can we not somehow put the need in touch with the resource.

I have to make a personal confession, as I have gor older I feel the pain of children more and more, so much so that I now cannot read or watch any news item that has any hint of cruelty, I just cannot bear it and become both irrationally angry and heart breakingly sad, I can't help them all, I cant even help 10's of them but I feel that I should. I know that sounds crazy but there it is.

OK I know it's simplistic but you can but hope.

Wow! I'd heard that political correctness and the level of State handouts had become very much 'over the top' in UK. If this is a typical example I can see why!

Unfortunately this type of problem can only be solved by a complete change in the approach and methodology by those who have created the conditions which allow this type of situation to exist - i.e. the politicians.

Unless and until this happens the situation will only get worse as more and more people take the attitude 'If they can have all these benefits, why not I?'

It is, perhaps, a telling point that the politicians who allow this state of affairs to exist have just been re-elected to office.
