Winged Migration

Post by Philadelphia Eagle »

For anyone interested in the mysteries of bird migration there is an excellent documentary airing tonight at 8pm Eastern.

Called 'Winged Migration' moviemaker Jaques Perrin follows migratory birds as they fly thousands of miles criss-crossing the globe.

The photography is superb.

In the Philadelphia TV area it is on digital channel # 531 (EDRA) but will probably be different in your location.

Hmmmmmm I will have to keep my eye open for it. Quite amazing I am sure.

You know our Canada Geese used to migrate south, but now do not, with global warming they hang out all year round. And stupid people here feed them things like cereal and white bread, making them dependant on our garbage, then making them sick, thus preventing them from even ever considering migrating again, and when humans stop feeding them they will die as winters here for those birds is killer. Darn mankind.

Now believe this or not but it is a true story. A FLAMINGO was blown off course whilst migrating and ended up as a "guest" in the duck pond in POOLE PARK (on the south west coast of England)! Looked really great to see him there with all those boring pigeons and ducks, this great pinkie!!!!!
