I was interested by this:
Saddam's Cousin, 14 Others on Trial for Suppressing 1991 Revolt
Because I had assumed that Saddam wasn't tried for the same crime because of the part that America played in the putting down of the uprising.
I wonder what is going on.:-3

The surprising trial of Saddam's Cousin.
Presumably the same clan persecution behind http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle ... 952128.stm Raghad Saddam Hussein, who fled the 2003 US-led invasion, is accused of terrorism and other offences.
She helped organise the legal defence of her father, who was hanged last December for crimes against humanity.
Last year Iraq put Raghad and her mother, Sajida, on a list of its most wanted fugitives, alleging they supported the insurgency in Iraq.

That's similarly curious if rumours of Sunni insurgents armed with American weapons is true. I wonder if it is simply that Iraq it taking the battle to the Americans?

The surprising trial of Saddam's Cousin.
And what's this? Political hara-kiri to atone for unpopularity?
And is it somehow related to the legal hara-kiri in Iraq?
