Pearlmans profile confuses me. It says joined recently, but states that profile was last updated in 1969.

Anyone know what that means? :-6

Sadly yes.

The profile is held on a database.

There is a field on the profile record which records the date and time it was last updated. If it's never been updated the field still has its initial value of zero.

Unix time, or POSIX time, is a system for describing points in time: it is the number of seconds elapsed since midnight UTC of 1970-01-01, not counting leap seconds. That's what's expected to be in the record.

If your computer isn't on UTC the display of the date last updated might go back a few hours into 31st December 1969 when represented as your local time, which is what you were asking about.

You're now allowed to wish someone else had answered.

Pearlman has been viewing a thread for the last 2.5 hours.....its a printable version ......how the heck do you get a printable version and why would you want one? :-6

Click on http://www.forumgarden.com/forums/print ... hp?t=29488 and compare it to what you usually see. It fits a thread onto fewer pages than just pressing your browser Print button would. You get to it under Thread Tools.

Thanks Spot. I guess there may be an occasion when you would want to print some useful info that has been posted. But I would not want to read it like that - can't see peoples avatars or smileys.
