Hello Everyone.
Hello Everyone.
I am Saffire, I have just joined the forum after spending some time delving through many forums to find a suitable one, this looks like an interesting one to be in and I look forward to having some great discussions in here. I might not be an "everyday" poster, as of being tied up with work, but I will try to post as often as I can,
Saffire.

Hello Everyone.
Welcome

"Why not just tell people I'm an alien from Mars. Tell them I eat live chickens and do a voodoo dance at midnight. They'll believe anything you say, because you're a reporter. But if I, Michael Jackson, were to say, 'I'm an alien from Mars and I eat live chickens and do a voodoo dance at midnight', people would say, 'Oh, man, that Michael Jackson is nuts. He's cracked up. You can't believe a damn word that comes out of his mouth.' " Michael Jackson

Hello Everyone.
I chose the bird avatar because I love birds, I love the sound of birdsong and of course being Saffire, this is my birthstone for September, (sapphire).

Hi RedGlitter, when I lived in Ireland, on the West Coast, we used to feed all the birds, we used to have the chaffinches fly into our bungalow, and they used to bring their baby chicks down for me and my husband to feed with tiny balls of cheese, it was a delight to watch them feed. We used to throw bits of bread out for the birds and the huge jackdaws used to know when to come down and take their turn in feeding, as the smaller birds used to be fed first and then the bigger birds knew when to come down. Also there used to be an old derelict bungalow besides the one we lived in, and we used to have swallows nesting in it, one was nesting on an old lampshade hanging from the ceiling and had baby chicks in, another built her nest on wallpaper which was peeling from the walls and the chicks were in danger of falling out onto the floor because of the weight of the nest on the peeling wallpaper, so we got lots of brown tape and re-taped the wallpaper making the nest safe and the chicks were able to survive.

Hello Everyone.
Thankyou so much, all of you for welcoming me into the forum, I will try to get in here as often as I can, when I am on my lates I can get in here in the mornings, and on my days off, but on one of my days off it is taken up with religious services, so if you don't hear much from me after today, it is because I am back at work all week, but I promise to get back in here now that I have found a forum I like

Aww, that's really cool! I used to have a cockatiel...she was the sweetest little bird. I'm always feeding the wild birds. We have a covey of about 30-40 pigeons who visit our yard for food. I think they're beautiful. I alwasy like to say birds fly on the breath of God. I would come back as a bird if possible.

Wow, you must have some beautiful birds where you live, I used to see the Stellers Jays when I was in California and I love the Humming birds you have in the States. I visited Arizona in 2002, stayed at this ranch called: "Betty and Dustys" in the middle of nowhere surrounded by gigantic cacti, but I loved it, I love the deserts, I have been to a few. I live in a flat and have no garden, just a balcony, so we don't get to have any birds visit us like we used to.
