i got up very early that day, decided to have a cuppa and go back to bed but just turned on the tv while i drank my tea, thats when i heard about it.

Goodness I remember it so well. It was a Saturday night.....early hours Sunday morning that the news the breaking on the tele. For some reason I couldnt sleep that night and watched it all unfolding. That Sunday morning I was at a Boot Sale and it was the most weird feeling. Everyone was so quiet and deep in shock.......it was as if we all had lost a dear friend. I can remember so clearly what I was doing that terrible night.

We'd just come back from holiday in our caravan on the Saturday evening. We were all very tired from unloading all our stuff and packing it away. My hubby and son had gone to bed, and I was just about to go when I remembered I wanted to check the Lotto so I switched the TV on with no sound. Fractions of seconds before I pressed the teletext button I noticed a picture of what appeared to be a news item with the picture of a car accident, but I carried on and got my Lotto info. I thought, that's odd they don't normally have news at this time, so I clicked off the teletext to reveal the news item. I turned the sound up just enough for me to hear, and it was a minute or two before names were mentioned, the time was just before 1.00 am on Sunday. I think the Princess was still in the car at that time. I just sat there in total disbelief at what I was seeing - these pictures were coming out live. I was in a state of shock, as if I was watching a member of my own family in that terrible accident, I think I was too shocked to even cry. It was awful, and I was there by myself.

Oh, and by the way, even after tens years, still the French have not put crash barriers of any sort along those uprights in that underpass. Had they had crash barriers already in place prior to that accident, I am sure we would still have Princess Di with us.

Been to work today it has been so very warm but keeps raining,, think we need a good storm to sort it out. Usually go to pub on monday night just for a couple but cos it keeps raining we didnt bother , as i didnt want to have to keep going out for a smoke:wah:

hi guys,

well, its 11-20pm, not long finished work again !! heaven knows how they're going to cope while im away. needed to hoover and clean me bird out, have managed to defrost me freezer after i remembered to turn it off :-5

doubt very much if i'll have time to get on here tomorrow and i dont know how long i will be gone but i can tell you something, coping with three kids and a bad tempered,pregnant woman aint gonna be so hard as working here and at least i can please myself if i sit down or not.

gill and carol, i will text you to let you know how i am, the mobile signal isnt too good there.
