Today I had a mammogram

Post by cinamin »

Today I had a mammogram done. Ouch, the woman smashed my precious boobs into a cold metal thing. It's no wonder that women do not want to have mammograms!

Yes, they are uncomfortable! But they are life savers, and it is good to have one done.

We men would be far more gentle on a woman's mammory glands. :) :D ;) OK joke over, it's a deadly serious business. To every woman out there I say: get it done, and get it done NOW! It's uncomfortable - so's a smear test, but leave it too late, and we all know the end result. It's absolutely vital for every woman to get checked out on a regular basis, not just the over forties.

I have a question. Are the exams more painful for larger or smaller breasted women?? Or does it matter? I'm supposed to get my first one and I have been repeatedly putting it off because of the horror stories.

I was going to say I don't think you have any reason to be embarrassed and I don't, however then I thought about myself getting stuffed into a squeeze machine and how I would feel so.....I'm sorry you had to endure that, Soberano. I guess it would be embarrassing. I know Paps certainly are! Yet better safe than sorry. I will keep you in mind when I make my appointment.

My first did hurt and they said that was the worst. It is true it was.Although not that nice it is well worth having. My oldest and dearest friend is alive today because something was seen and she did not even have a lump. For the past two years she has gone through chemo and radiotherapy, but is alive and kicking now.

I think all men should be screened for prostate cancer as well. This is a simple procedure,I think is unfair that they are not.
