I finally succumbed and added myself to Classmates. Only because I wanted to check people out.

I found the guy I had been planning to ask to my senior prom. He's got 3 or 4 kids now.

How come when I look at them they seem so middle aged and yet when I look in the mirror, I'm the same person I was in my 20s and 30s? It this a trick of Classmates.com or are we playing with funhouse mirrors or what?

When you look in the mirror, do you see the real person?

Careful, Ive heard once you sign up its difficult to un-sign. They keep charging your card and dont answer your request to stop.

It is cool to go back and see all those names though.

A couple of months ago I ran into a guy I played Little League with. That was odd.

When I look into the mirror, I do not see me as I physically am, but who I am inside. It must be the lights.........................:wah:

I'm kinda phobic about checking me out. Have to be in an " up" mood! I've grown on me over the years! I even have affection for my large ears; thanks Dad.

You are right about the middle aged dudes. Although I was somewhat relieved that I started to find people in thier fifties/sixties attractive as I got older. I see a dewiness about young people I didn't used to. I somehow manage not to be seething with jealousy!

One of the scariest moments of my life was passing a mirror on my way to the bathroom & seeing just for a split second - my mother, not me :lips:

That's odd Buttercup! But not at all in a bad way.

This might seem odd to you though...when I first changed my avatar photo, I would get a little funny feeling when I'd post and my face was looking back at me. Like, "Is that me? Is this who Terri Williams is? Who is that girl?" I have a hard time recognizing myself if that makes any sense. I can check the mirror and see how much I look like my dad, and as I get older, my mom. I'm just not used to seeing myself. :)

Redglitter its only you that thinks you look the same as way back. None of us see ourselves ageing. We still feel young, think we look young, but sadly its all an illusion without the trick mirrors.

I still live in the same town where I grew up, so I tend to bump into most people that I went to school with. It's interesting how all our lives have panned out, I remember all our ambitions and plans that we made, I don't think any of us achieved what we set out to do, I know I chose a very different path, but that's what makes life fun :-

As I see these folks around I don't really notice the ageing process, it's funny but I'm more aware of how much I've changed, not just looks but my outlook on life too. :guitarist

I received email from an old boyfriend from the past through him finding me on Classmates.com. He had not really changed. I wrote about it here too.

I'm not familiar with Classmates. I signed up with FriendsReunited.com and found the names of old school friends (or so I thought). After adding my name I fired off half-a-dozen intros, hoping to talk about old times. Just one person sent one reply, and that was it! Surely I wasn't such an ***hole, was I! I mean, why the hell put your name on the board if you're not prepared to communicate with one another, if even occasionally. I felt very disillusioned. I feel I've been conned out of my registration fee. Do others feel like, or am I the ugly duckling nobody wants to know?:(

They can't receive your messages unless they have paid the fee, so don't take it to heart :-4 I joined but just to see who was there, as I didn't pay the subscription I am unable to send or receive messages.

No, they've all paid up, because they put information about themselves what they've been doing recently, and those who haven't joined aren't on the list at all. I'm not worried though. Only important people write to me;

"Dear Mr. *********,

We wish to inform you that your account is seriously overdrawn..." :wah: :wah:
