Hello from the hot dry Southeast USA
Hi all, stumbled into this wonderful collection of forums by accident and like the looks of it. I may not be a prolific contributor but I will be popping in from time to time as life permits as this looks like an interesting place full of interesting people. I like the fact so many people from different countries seem to be contributing. I'm no stranger to forums but my participation is mostly limited to a number of sites devoted to the craft of badesmithing and crafting knives.
Well, a little bit about myself. I'm a 44 year old married dad with two teen age kids. I work in a job I don't particularly like but am good at, and hey life's not perfect, it pays the bills and keeps a roof over out heads. I have a degree in history education but don't teach (keeps crossing my mind though). I enjoy animals (I'm a cat person personally but do love our dog), anthropology, archeology, reading, hiking, canoeing, smelting steel, forging steel, heat treating steel and making knives. A friend of mine is trying to get me interested in brewing beer but so far I haven't gotten past just drinking it! I dream of traveling as well.
I think it will be nice meeting and talking with y'all.

Welcome. Go for the home brew beer and the wine as well. personally I never got round to bottling the stuff but be careful it has fermented properly-you get drunk very quickly but by god does it go through your system even quicker.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone, WonderWendy, that cat thread is hilarious, didn't do much for my office productivity this afternoon though! :wah: I can't wait to show those to my wife when I get home!
