Post by Nomad »

I went to change my spark plugs today and after burning flesh off my hand I got the 1st one out and it had 3 points on it. Normally its just the one uhhh thingy that you gap. This had 3 on it. What the hell ?

I got scared and put it back in.

If you define cowardice as running away at the first sign of danger, screaming and tripping and begging for mercy, then yes, Mr. Brave man, I guess I'm a coward.

Here you go Abbey a spark plug. From Wikipedia: is an electrical device that fits into the cylinder head of some internal combustion engines and ignites compressed aerosol gasoline by means of an electric spark. Spark plugs have an insulated center electrode which is connected by a heavily insulated wire to an ignition coil or magneto circuit on the outside, forming, with a grounded terminal on the base of the plug, a spark gap inside the cylinder.

Some garage has a supply of KLG 'plugs left over from the post-war period, and is using them. You can clean them[1] better than modern plugs, so they may be OK.

[1] Who cleans sparking-plugs nowadays? Ans: No-one!

Take you car to a mechanic and make sure they don't charge you to change the gumption valve.

I didnt have one snapped in all the way. I had to actually sever my left hand and attach it to vice grips to get in there but its all good now.

Except for the hand thingy.
